Makes sense... when I was in CO, I saw two kinds of cars. Subarus, and old Audis.

Interesting that 3 of the top 10 are in Colorado. Even more interesting is that I have dealt with all three at one time or another. Our last Subie (my stepson's) came from Shortline.

The owner of Heuberger Motors has a modified 22B. When I saw it, it was told to me that he is personal friends with the head of STI. The engine is no longer a 2.2 and the transmission has been strengthened. Then he put decals all over it. It was raced up Pikes Peak at least once. Sorry if this is off the topic.

I bought mine from Van Bortel. A fair number of us that AX in Syracuse will make the 1-1.5 hour trip to van bortel for work/custom alignments/etc.

Van Bortel is doing a lot of sales to Canadians now too. There was a group buy on www.redflagdeals.com. I almost bought a used XT from them myself. Would've really liked to as they were very pleasant to deal with, but the car was just out of budget for me.

I've meet Gunther Heuberger. He is an awesome guy, a true enthusiast.

He told Subaru that the new WRX was crap back two years ago when he went to Japan to test it out.

+1 When I lived in Vermont, it seemed like 1 out of every 4 cars not driven by a tourist was a SUBARU

Looking on the Subaru NA website, I noted that there are a number of STi's sitting on the lots on the west coast. I'm amazed that no one here has actually picked one up. There must be plenty of west coast forum members. What's the hold up?

Some should start making their way to Ohio near the end of the month. I'm gonna hold out for a dark grey one. If the car clicks with me and there are no reasonable deals to be had, I might have to check out Van Bortel. And it looks like the STi would be pretty good for kayak transporting too!

How about, it's not worth the money. As members on this board have said, "People don't have to buy a Subaru."

If I were in the market for something like the STi, I would go for the Mitsu EVO.

Back on topic, however, I'm surprised none of the dealers are in California...being as so many car companies number one dealers are in this state.

You're absolutely clueless. It's quite rare that any California dealership leads the country in sales volume.

My dealership doesnt even come close to those guys. But then again we are in Norman, OK and well, people around here dont even know what a Subaru is. I have actually been asked 2 times if Kia makes Subaru's. LOL

I did finish 19th in the nation in sales though. Does that count?

I cant wait for the new forester,
Josh
