sweet man, im glad. Like I said, the biggest changes should be in smoothness and driveability, and hopefully you see long term mpg increase as well. just keep her under 4k rpm when cruising and accelerate lightly and im sure your mileage will be better then it was. That intake was throwing the fueling way out and the stock DBW throttle maps are silly.

You can see there how much fuel the ECU was adding to get the car corrected down low (the AF learning). That means until it learned, it was running too rich. Up top, out of the ecus correction range, it was actually doing the opposite and running a little leaner then called for (which was ok since the stock map runs your car WAY too rich up top).
And you can see all the timing be pulled all over the place. I wish there was a history of knock and not just a snapshot, but 5 degrees is alot to pull!

Is how it ended up. No more knock, correctly reading intake. Had to pull almost 10 degrees of timing out of the midrange to keep it from knocking! Funny thing is that it defintely didnt lose any power and drives smoother now! Go subaru haha

Sorry about your car man, at least now you know the extent of the problems and can figure out where to go from there. Hows the clutch?

M@
The clutch feel is definitely stiffer, the engagement is quick, the clutch seems to hold fine, but I wasn't pushing the car. Everything feels smoother with the GroupN engine/tranny mounts. A new rattle noise has made itself apparent which is driving me nuts. Probably just the hard AC line against the firewall.

Told amanda the bad news about the front diff and the leaks; we are counting pennies for a new transmission some day. may as well just bought a shell with a motor and dash; everything is being/has been replaced on this heap.

we calculated, if we didn't eat at the meets for a year, we might be able to afford a transmission in monies saved.

My long term plans include PPG straight cut gears (1-4) but I'd rather not drop that money in the near future.

Haha I knew about it last night from matt... all taken care of now, nice and easy fix. I love working on your car man, it's pretty much exactly what I'd want for a nice daily driver Subaru.

The idea of the car is awesome, not the associated problems that should have never existed.

catching the 1:20 bus down to Kingston, be there around 2ish.

Since the weather is getting crappy out on weekends and outdoor activities are getting slim, i was curious if anyone would be interested in heading up to F1 Boston on a weekend for some indoor karting?
