Last week we had more non-subaru cars there then we had cars for the first two times we meet. This meet has grown faster than I think any of us thought it would, I never imagined that we would have over 20 cars from three different sates showing up every week, but we do; and I thought this should be addressed now before things get too big to control. Tell me what you guys think though. I'm just trying to keep this balanced, and keep it from becoming one guy invites a friend who has a vw, who invites a friend with a civic and so on, until we have a bunch of ricers their causing trouble and we have no way to control it because those people aren't on nasioc and we have no way of communicating with them. It has also been sugegested that meeting at the daycare would eleviate this problem because ricers would have to make an effort to do stuipid things in order to show off, and i tend to agree with this statement. so guys let me know what you think.

Also, if you think we should start “limiting the meet to people on these boards”, then those like CBMS3 and Northmiler89 have certainly earned their parking spots with posts…. “much lov fellas” [insert] hand in peace sign over heart[] …
I also think that everyone “knows” it’s a SUBIE meet, but it’s also cool for friends to be able to hang out and meet some new people too. Not that I am old and wrinkly, but I was blown way last week in finding out how young some of the guys are. So we could also say that we have a community responsibility to instill positive values in today’s local urban ghetto youth, and give them a place to stay out of trouble. I don’t what to be the one to tell someone they are not cool enough to hang, due to their vehicular association… If we move every few weeks like was planned, then that will keep those not on the boards and those that were not invited by friends from randomly showing up.. Lastly to avoid being part of the problem, and become part of the solution, I will tell my father that he can’t stop by next week… Silly old man was going to come by in his non-subie import to see what all the fuss was about…..

c/n: do you think our meet should be open to everybody or just to people on nasioc.

i think moving the meet will calm it down a little bit.. personally i did say myself that this is a subaru meet..but.. i also think trying to stop certain cars from coming is going to be a mistake and end up hurting the general feel of the meet.. also as tro8 said trying to stress the issues that we have been having to some of the younger or less careful people at the gatherings is a good idea.. but it will be a fine line that i dont think should be crossed to not hurt anyones feelings so to speak..

What problems have we been having..?

I tihnk it is funny that random people are speaking up, but the ONLY people who are there on a consistant basis (everydamntime) are you, me (mazda), rob (saab), bryan (suby), scott (mazda). We hit up both RI meets every week and the Dub meet afterwards.

Even HDtech who claims it is HIS meet doesnt show up every time and often leaves.. I understand others have prior comitments, but I would like to see some people tell me that I am not welcome at these meets.

Why dont we go back to the original feeler that was posted for this meet and see who the first responses were from.. Guys.. there is no question about this, no one with us has caused trouble at this meet and ANYWHERE you go down there people are going to do stupid **** in front of us. I dont object to moving around bi-weekly? but we have to get used to people doing stupid ****.. it is going to happen..

We have actually had LESS burnouts and **** near us since moving up to Wendys. It is right there off the road and even random people coming through check things out. You think we have 30+ people there because everyone is on NASIOC and drives a suby.. no. We have had no problems and this is the way things will stay until a problem comes up.

The police know we are there and have YET to be bothered by them there. When we were hidden way in back we had a speed trap setup for us and were followed and questioned in the parking. **** IS FINE. Stop trying to control the whole thing and just show up every week and enjoy yourself. Everyone is there because they are interested in the cars, even if they are douche bags, they are there for the same reason.

Until someone does something stupid we dont need to move nor do we need to exclude any certain vehicle types, nor does anyone on this board have the right to say who can and cannot come.

k?

thanks.

I think excluding other cars besides Subaru's would be a mistake both brandon and Scott are cool dudes and car guys. I know i'll prob be driving the S2000 alot more once weather warms up and i'd hate to get told sorry go home get the Subaru or you can't come by .

As long as people ain't doing ricer ish like burnouts, driving recklessly thru the lot,and causing trouble i wouldn't be concernd.

i absolutely agree.. but that type of stuff has been happening..no one directly with the group i know that.. also northmiler as i said and i quote myself... " i also think trying to stop certain cars from coming is going to be a mistake and end up hurting the general feel of the meet.." i never said that i wanted to stop certain cars from attending... you cant deny that we are getting the wrong type of attention.. i also agree that no matter were we go it is going to attract attention but as i think we all know wendys is the unofficial sign of the ricer.. which and hd tech correct me if im wrong is what he meant..

im not taking sides or trying to start anything with any of my comments and yes i have been there every meet and if the douchebag comment is in my direction then i guess there will be problems with comments like that floating around

see now josh understands what I was saying. you guys getting all pissy and defensive just because I asked a question is rediculas. Yes, I do call this my meet, I started it, I've organized every single meet, even the one I didn't go to, and because I'm the one who is organizing it, It is also my responsibility to keep a general feel for what people want. we may have had more burnouts in front of wal-mart but there have been more close calls at wendys, and when somebody's car gets backed into because of some idiot, then they are gonna come to me, and blame me because that is where I said to meet. So I am asking questions to find out what people want to do. I'm not attacking people because they don't drive a subaru, and again people obviously arn't readin the post. I never said only subaru, I said people on these boards. So northmiller don't get your panties in a bunch because that includes you to. now I'm done talking about this, because we obviously know what the group wants to do, and everyone is taking this the wrong way anyway.

Hey, I've attended on a consistant basis. I'll show my attendance card next week. It's been punched, and the back seat of the cars full of Wendy's bags !

I agree

I like the mix of cars and people that have attended so far. Nobody has acted poorly. It's the ocasional jerk passing thru the lot that's acted in stupidity....and last week almost paid the price. These are the losers that make me nervous. They are not part of our group, or any group, and have nothing to lose by acting like Aholes. And you can't stop them from showing up. I really wouldn't care even if a green guy with three eyes and Yugo showed up, as long as they behave civil, hangout, checked out the cars and left without a burnout or hitting someone/something. (As if a Yugo could)

Lets just keep a good thing going. Summer is just around the bend and this should be alot of fun for all. Even my daughter loves to go with me and see the cars. This limits me to just a little while each WED, and I need to get her home to bed for school the next day, but she has a good time. My thanks to everyone for making me and her feel welcome.

Yes Wendy'Z is the unofficial sign of the ricer just go to Wendys at the RI mall on fri and sat during summer

And i agree there have been some boneheads driving thru the parking lot recklessly making us look bad cause people that are going to eat with there family's are gonna assume it's us because of the cars and if they see some1 driving thru fast they must be part of our group.

Just look at the accident that almost happened at the drive thru last week.

Coming from the honda community no one knows the ricer mentality more than me lol.

I just wanna hang out with fellow enthusiasts and shoot the s*%t and learn about my car have fun .

I can see if my buddy will let us have meets at his shop in Cranston it does have a lift too.

Default Mohegan meet...

So on to a new topic…. The first Sunday of May (4th) when there is another Mohegan Sun Meet we should try to get a big group of the S. RI cars to head down there…
[font=Arial][size=3]Today 2subiesinyard (aka Mike) and I went down and checked it out, (after a few others bailed on me), and I have to say it mine as well have been a Subie meet…. Mostly CT cars but there were groups that came from Mass, NY and even about 8 guys that drove down from VT…. But I was the only RI plate in the parking lot… here are a few pics to show what you missed.. people there said that this was a small turnout compared to the normal summer crowd, but as it was cold

hey while your mentioning that i also had an idea for just once or whenever.. i know its a s.ri meet or central for that matter whatever.. who would be up for hooters in warwick one night?? wed's are all you can eat wings.. parking would be my only concern but that place is open seating so it would be pretty cool...just a thought.. and its a family place although 2subies i dont think it would be appropiate for your daughter unless you see fit.. thats your call of course.. they just have awesome wings and not bad sights.. again just a thought
