Default Poll : Aem CAI or Injen CAI

Sup guys. I'm about to get a CAI soon and can't decide between a Aem or a Injen. Aem I can get a bypass valve for it(total about $300) and Injen got an offer for $140 shipped.
Anyone have any problems with getting water in the CAI?

Which one do you guys prefer?

*edit*

Added the poll. added more Cai's. Sorry couldnt find where it was until now. feel a bit dumb -_-'

Well I had no problems with the Injen cold air intake on my Vibe. So as far as product experience, I'd buy another one.

Out of those 2 I would go with the Injen. I ran one on my WRX for about 35,000 miles, with no problems. If you are lookinf to spend that much tho the APS 65 mm is a better option.

As for water getting into the intake... I'm not sure but I believe the filter sits above/in front of the pass front wheel. If your fender liner is not broken and your not in 2 feet of water there would be no hydrolock issue. The filter should stay pretty dry. Just don't forget its there and clean it at least 1-2 a year.

if your worried about water go outerwears.com and get a pre-filter, i got 2 of the water resistant so i can change and clean w/no down time, also you wont have to clean the filter as often

There are usually some APS for sale in the private for sale classifieds. Usually around $200 plus shipping.

aem all the way i got one and i love it.the sound of the air sucking in and power gains and you have to drown the filer suck in water and you cant put the water bypass valve on turbo cars. when you spool it will close and starve your car of air

I have an AEM short ram. seems to do the job. But from what I understand apexi has a better filter. Best in the market(independant research). High Flow, Lowest amount of particles that pass through the filter. That said I will be swaping filters.

I've been running the Cosmo CAI now since the middle of last summer. It comes with three intake ports so no need to modify or run a tee fitting. It also came with enough hose to replace almost all the factory stuff as well. The poly couplers are a bit suspect but I haven't noticed any cracking or visible wear yet. For about $150 delivered from Canada the price was right as well. I would recommend that no matter what intake you get it'd be wise to line the hole in the fender with something to cut down on noise at idle. This probably won't eliminate it unless you really wedge it in but anything beats the sound of metal hitting metal. Whatever intake you decide on you will love the sound at wide open throttle. I did do a soft rest of the computer(unplug the battery for at least 5 minutes) but I've read that this isn't needed.

It all depends. a good short ram will come with a shield that protects the intake from engine heat. I know the SPT one from Subaru does anyway.

Whenever you change airflow in the engine, it will need to be tuned. If what you get does not change anything, why get it?

thats a swt setup. i thought about that before too. i can just build a custom one from shucks and get a k&n filter if i'm going to head that direction.

yea thast what i thought and i called underground performance to see how much it would be to tune my greddy evo2 exhaust, a perrin ss bov and and an intake and they told me thats its not necessary to tune those parts. only bov if its no a recirc. so i decided not to tune until i actually did get a part that needed tuning since it seems pretty expensive to get my car tuned.

Perrin advertises no tuning needed for their shorty and their CAI. But I don't have any real world intake knowledge with subies. I only do invisible mods though in my stubbornness.
