Default Possible Move to Lockport, LA

Im currently in Newport News VA and could be moving to Lockport near New Orleans... is there anybody out there that can tell me what the subie scene is like. If there even is one.

I left the new orleans area after katrina, but there wasn't much of a subie scene back then. There are some cool people in that area. If you want I'll pm you a link to a site that is good for south and central louisiana. Hope you like to autox a whole lot and do track days. They have a great autox and track day group.

Lockport is a pretty small town. I have been through there a few times and there really isn't much there at all.

Yea, there isn't much in Lockport, but nawlins isn't too far away.

Thanks guys, Im going to be there on Contract work at a Shipyard in Lockport so i will probably be there for a year or so. I love autox, i have a 95 240sx that i built for autox / track days, i usually race at Virginia International Raceway in Danville, VA. Lots of fun.

OMG not Lockport.

Look up the Delta region on the SCCA website. Those guys are still putting on auto-xes. EDIT: Just follow the link joey gave you.

The only upside to Lockport is its nearness to the only road course in the State.

I will be living closer to New Orleans and working out of Lockport. So hopefully it wont be to bad. I will soon have a truck and trailer so travel wont be a problem to get to a track. thanks again for everyones info.
