Default Morettes + H4 HID = "I have a question"

Hi guys.

Got HIDs installed into my Morettes last night. While it is intensly bright I have a question/comment/etc.

H4 style of bulb comes with a reflective shield next to the bulb. So, when bulb is installed shield is below the bulb and prevents most of the light from shining down.

I spoke with people who sell the kit and been told it should be like that and it is all normal. Hovewer, I would like to get your comments and notes on such.

Thanks a lot.

Eugene

I have the same setup here, but can't get my high-beams work! Is your high-beams working properly?

Hummmmmmmmmmm
I was hoping to get some answers and instead I get more questions. Wonder.....

Well, ok. Morettes were ~300 from a GB here and HIDs were 335 from GB here as well. (Geeeee I am a GB Whore ) So, it makes it $635.

Yes, my highs do go on and while they are on Lows (HID) still on as well. It can be done. I paid $30 to have it wired in by stereo installation place. I would recomend you do same if not sure how to go about it. Good luck.

Question

25psi - Sorry, i know you were lookin for answers, but I've got a question for you. Did you buy your headlights direct from Morette? Because I've seen other places selling them (like www.rallyperformance.com) for around $500. Where'd u get them for $300?

GB price was somewhere in 275-300 (GC8) 400 for WRX

I would think by having the cover/reflector on the bottom of the bulb would cause the majority of the light to be reflected off the top of the lamp housing reflector and them out the lens and down to the ground where you want it.

Not sure of a easy way to explain it. But think about how light reflects. If the light was allowed to bounce off the bottom of the housing reflector it would exit the lens and go to the sky.

Make sense?
