- Eleventh Consecutive Month of Sales Growth; New January Record for Impreza
- CHERRY HILL, N.J., Feb. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Subaru of America, Inc. (SOA), a pioneer of crossover all-wheel drive vehicles designed for the active lifestyle, announced today total sales of 13,092 units for the month of January, up 2 percent from 2001 totals for the same period. "Demand for Subaru All-Wheel Drive remains strong, despite industry fears of exhausted customer demand in the wake of low financing deals," said Fred D. Adcock, Executive Vice President, Subaru of America, Inc. "The January total was our eleventh consecutive month of year-over-year sales increases -- a testament to our leadership in the crossover segment and the tremendous acceptance of our Driving Performance initiative with the WRX." Subaru Legacy led the monthly total with 6,640 units posted, while Subaru Outback recorded a total of 4,890 units. Subaru Impreza continued its remarkable sales performance with 2,966 units posted, representing a 95% increase from January 2001 and a new monthly record for this model.
