Fuel smell, followed by pretty nice fuel leak, followed by car is dead

I know the fuel smell and small fuel leak have been covered MANY times. Tonight, when I got off work, I started the car and got out to let it warm up and talk with friends.

My other friend was in the car and the smell in there got so bad he had to get out. Then we started to smell it really bad outside the car. So I pop the hood and smell around.

Smells around turbo inlet tube and I can see a nice puddle right at the turbo inlet on top of the block. One of the guys looks under my car and I have a 1'x2' size puddle of gas under my car. Dripping off one of the cross members. It's pretty much right under my intercooler.

So I'm like whatever, will look at it tomorrow and drive home.

I get home and relize I need to go out again. So I try to start up, dead to the world. I heard it turn over once and then just stop. No lights or power of any kind. Can't even lock it with the key fob thingy.

Sounds like you have a fuel leak and a dead battery. The only way I could see them being related is if your fuel leak were caused by the fuel pump running with the car off.

Brand new battery. Will check if the pump stays on though.

Sounds like you have a fuel leak and a dead battery. The only way I could see them being related is if your fuel leak were caused by the fuel pump running with the car off.
