Cool Cycling season is here sorta

Alright, guys with a roof rack I got some questions.. for the '02 Impreza

What kind? measurements? Price? and Where'd you get it?

I plan on doing some races and/or crits, and need bike transportation. I'm sick of stashing it in the trunk.

Default Warning...

Roof racks are NOT cheap! I have a Saris that currently has clips for my Z28, but I will be getting ones for the Impreza soon. The total damage was in the $400 neighborhood! Up until today I had the lower back seat cushion out of my car so I could put my bike inside. It's a 59 cm, so there is no way it's fitting in the trunk w/o removing the fork.

You removed the the lower back seat cushion? How'd you do that? I took a quick look-see and it seems like the whole backseat is connected?

There's only two 12mm bolts that hold the entire lower cushion down. Take those 2 out, lift the front of the seat cushion up to unhook the back and take it out!

Yakima (I got one... ordering stuff for it soon)

Q Towers $120 set of 4
Q-clips (don't know what number) $20 pr... need 2 pr.... $40
Cross bars $40
Steel head tray (lockable) $100
Front wheel carrier (with new tabs to prevent ejecting the wheel while driving) $30
Front fairing ( I would suggest this becase the rack HOWLS without it) $40 (I don't know what size you need).
SKS Lock cores (to lock everything down to the car) 8pack $70

Total damage = $440

But i have had my rack for a while so I just needs the towers and clips... now I am buying 2 steel head trays and lock cores... I carry the front wheels in the car... save some $$$.

~looks back at my Trek STP200~Soon..... soon my baby..... soon....

Oh yeah, i have yet to find a Yakima dealer to give ANY kind of discount.... I get my Yakima stuff from REI (www.rei.com) because it can be delivered to my house.

You can go to www.yakima.com to build a rack and find EXACTLY how much it will cost you.
