Yes you can still use the stock heatshield I think a bit of cutting is required though. As for the bolts I don't know. Good luck with the install and have fun with the new TBE.

Most leave it off. also, can't really buy replacement bolts unless you go to Autozone or some store like that.

Thanks

You can get a SPT Turbo Heat Shield. Easy Installation!! Something is better then nothing. They are around $70-80 bucks? I will be getting one, since I no longer have the brackets.

Hell with the stock heatshield, its not worth the trouble of cutting that crap. Doesnt make sense, takes an hour to take take out , just to put it back on later. Go buy a Cobbs or Cusco replacement.

I have no stock heat shield, just the SPT. It has worked for me. Easy install too!

Yeah, that would not be a problem. Some people go forever with no heatshield on there after a DP install. The reason being in most cases that it is a major PITA to get back on! Besides the only side issue you will have with no heat shield is underhood temps. With it being winter time....you will be golden.

Heatshield isn't a must, but it is nice to have. Go with a cobb..50$ For the bolts, if ur talking about the bolts from turbo-downpipe, you can go to autozone, or get it from the dealer, but be prepared to pay like 2$ a bolt....bastards lol. Hardware stores are the best route, just figure out the thread pitch, length and width.

Just go to any hardware store and purchase new bolts. I did this for all my turbo to DP bolts, as the old ones where already in bad shape.

Regarding the heat shield; cutting the stocker is very easy, and the stocker actually provides the best heat coverage. Cutting mine took around 10 minutes with a dremel.

But if he is thinking of returning to stock at some point, he would be better off just getting an after market, I am sure the stocker is better for keeping heat down, but if you return it to stock, you have half of your heat shield missing. I kept mine intact just in case I ever need to get it inspected, I want it to appear stock....plus it is a PITA to get back on!
It all depends on what the owner wants really, there are choices out there....but it is up to the person to choose what one fits for them.

Buy a second stocker locally in case you want to go back to stock. I've seen them around for ~$20.
