Default Power gain from catted DP to catless DP?

My car is protuned with VF34, STi TMIC and catted downpipe. What kind of power gain can I expect from replacing catted downpipe with catless? My catted DP has over 45k miles and will need replacement soon. Instead of spending over $400 for catted one, I am considering getting a catless dp. Wonder if it's possible to just gut out the material? I understand that gutting out the UP is much easier.

Most important question: does it really smell that bad?

Go catless.

Gutting the DP is tricky but can be done....gutting the up pipe is DEFINITELY worth it.

Any time you get rid of a cat on a turbo car you are going to see big gains.

I also have a catless uppipe as well. Due to location of catalytic converter, gutting out will be very tricky.

go catless! and DEFINATLY do a catless upipe. big difference in spool. be careful going catless though because thats all it takes with certain exhaust systems too loose a beautiful exhaust note. catless can bring the rasp out. and it doesnt smell THAT bad
