I will tell you the Homestead lot they run it in is very rocky (part exposed limestone rock) and lacking in much dirt.

yea rally tires, the rocks will destroy other tires. and make sure to tape the hell out of your car. the rocks are big and they will mess up the sides or your car, mud guards will really help too.

I remember reading something about GRM destroying a brand new (?) set of tires at their first rallyx there, due to the sandpaper-like surface. Good luck, guys.

edit: not new tires, but here's the info they gave about the site:

Why host a National event on an extreme corner of the continent? This is most likely to be a South Florida event by attendance. Even living in the South, Homestead is 12 hours away for me.

Anyway, ... cool that Rallycross is picking up.

You have described what most S. FL auto/rallycrossers go through for just about any national event for anyone in the southern half of Fl, so giving them a event every once in a while I think is OK.

yea what he said---
south florida is a LONG LONG way from nebraska [st louis, oregon, detroit, ohio, virigini and w virginia]
Nashville is a little closer- though
[Nashville will be hosting the end of the year national championship this year]
our terrain is clay/dirt with an occasional rock that can be thrown and make chips and dents, but traction is awesome --if it don't rain.

Because it's a National/Divisional. They are more numerous than a Solo or ProSolo National event. There may not be many regions other than that one in the SE part of the country to host them. Basically it's a Divisional level event that the National office will recognize and with that recognition comes contigency money!

I'll be trying to schedule a Divisional here in Columbus, Ohio later this year but I may be too late to submit for National status. Also, Dayton and Detroit will host Nationals so I may be the odd man out in this part of the country.

I've already talked to her. As soon as I can schedule a date with the site I can up the ante!

I'm going to try to make it to a Nashville regional sometime before Oct, but the car is behind schedule....
