The Evergreen Aviation Museum is a great place to spend a beautiful day. Aircraft (and other craft) inside and outside, with new items being added every month.

Here's a sample from the West Coast Legacy Central Meet #2 (2006) weekend.

put me down for 2 people in one wrx wagon.

Erik

ps, where would this drive be starting? What route to get there?

pss, just checked all the links above, maybe people from the Portland area just want to meet there? I love a good car drive as much as the next guy, but to get to McMinneville via Lincoln City is a bit out of my way.

Its the other way around.... they are driving straight down to Mcminnville and from there, goto lincoln city. Personally that route is great and all but you have no idea how much driving you'll be doing!!! Your route is take over 9-10hours of driving all together! That not including stops.

Personally I'll be heading back to vancouver from mcminneville.

Wow, that is quite the long drive. The last two times I have been there, I have flown down, and even that felt like it took forever. Probably won't make it to this one, might fly down, but I doubt it. If it was the next weekend, I might have been able to make it because I will be in Portland for a few months training for a new job.

Wife and I will probably be down to meet up with everyone...sounds like a fun drive and we've never seen the spruce goose.....Whenever i see something about it i always think about that episode of the simpsons...

Burns (loosing his grip on reality like Howard Hughes): Smithers, I’ve designed a new plane. I call it the “Spruce Moose”, and it will carry two hundred passengers from New York’s Idyllwild Airport to the Belgian Congo in seventeen minutes!

Smithers: That’s quite a nice model, sir.

Burns: Model?

Yeah, Henry bought his STi in McMinnville, and I remember it being pretty damn far. It looks really close to Portland on teh map but driving between the two seems to take FOREVER. But it would be good to see you guys if you go
