Default Does subaru void warranties during routine inspections?

I am taking my car in tomorrow for a regular check up. Do they void warranties if they notice mods during check ups or only when the problem occurs? I have obvious mods like the catless TXS stealthback(from under the car of course) and prodrive 1" lower spring kit.

I can't say for what other dealers do.

I know when you come in for an oil change or any service all we do is the service and a 27 point courtesy inspection. I do not pursue cars when they have mods. My techs do not go through cars with a comb to find problems. Now, if you come in with a problem and a modification has caused this problem, then I get SOA involved and let them make the decision. Otherwise, we make the repair under warranty. I see quite a few modified cars that are tastefully done.

That will give you some information about voiding warranties.

Unless you come in with a problem, we really could care less about your modifications, and some techs/advisors/managers/owners (<-- in our case) will even sit and discuss with you what you have done, compliment you on your car and even tell you what you could do next or what effects the mods might have.

The only time that I (tech at tricity subaru) have ever seen subaru void a warranty based on mods is if the car comes in for a warranty issue and somebody from technical comes to look at the car for some reason and they determine the mods to have caused the failure.

I bring my car to the dealer for oil changes and other maintenance issues, and my mods include headers, a Random Technologies Cat Back Exhaust, and a 2" Scorpion body lift. I have got a few comments about it (all good), but we'll see if it passes the inspection next month with the exhaust. It is a little loud.
