So in November (of 2006!!!) i picked up this rolled 03' sedan. Only 35k miles on it and it drove right onto the flat bed when i towed it home.
I stripped out the interior, pulled most of the wiring harness then other 'priorities' came up and it sat for a YEAR! Two weeks ago the clutch finally went out in my wagon. Some motivation was found so i spent the last WEEK cleaning my garage to the point of being spotless (it was pretty messy). And as of yesterday got back to wrenching. Got the subframe, rear diff, driveshaft out tonight... tomorrow i pull the motor/tranny and get the car out of the garage and move my wagon in!!! I'll update this thread as i move along... should help keep me motivated ![]() ![]() ![]() And here's what it's going into ![]() (ok, this ones my old mans but mine is the same) ![]() Maybe now i'll have the power i've been lacking ![]()

That will be a great project.
Take lots of photos and make a complete writeup. I love build threads and will check back often. ![]() How much does a rolled wrx normally go for? ![]() |

I've known James for quite a few years now, this will be a good project for him, but if he gets into trouble, he knows that I am just a phone call away. Good luck James!!! By the way, he comes from a rally family, his mother use to drive performance rallys on the east coast before James was born, his father was her co-driver. His father and he drive rallyx these days.

So are you going to be doing the whole swap wiring and all or are you gonna have another shop like PIA do it?

Well what type of conversion is this thread about? Do you think he did that with no help??? He got plenty of help from plenty of people. Maybe you should stay out of something you know nothing about.

ironically enough, i had a conversation with another individual on what kind of cranky response you'd come back with. guess we got our answer. i think you should stop being such a negative know-it-all all the time. to the OP.. good luck with the swap! |

I know you have more pics; I was there. Way to go James. When you picked up the engine hoist around noon today I didn't think it would be that far along this evening.

Got some more done today.
Pulled the crossmember, Controll Arms, Steering Shaft, Steering rack, Heater core, engine wireing harness, and the rest of the main wiring harness through the firewall. So the stripping of the WRX is now COMPLETE!!! Time to get it out of the garage and get my car in and start over... ![]() ![]() |
