Default AMS rotated mount turbo kit test

Well you all knew it wasn't going to be long before we designed a turbo kit for the Subaru. And now you have it!

This in our prototype GT3076R AMS V-band Turbo kit. This kit particular kit is using the new Tial V-band housing. Please keep in mind that the way this kit sits is not necessarily how we are going to release it.... but its close.

The numbers were VERY surprising.

The mods on the car were as follows:

AMS Prototype TMIC
AMS Prototype Catback Exhaust
AMS Prototype GT3076R V-band Turbo kit
AMS Prototype Header
Deatschwerks 850cc injectors
Walbro Fuel Pump
Cobb Access port
Boost: Spiking to 22 Holding at 20
AFR: Low 11's under WOT
Fuel: 93 Octane Pump gas

The car its being compared to is our shop 05 when it had the following mods:

AEM Cold Air intake
Vibrant Catback exhaust
Open Source Tune

And now for the dyno chart:

This thing just hauls!!! I am so excited to try this thing on some big boost and see what it can do. We are also going to do a test with our prototype FMIC and swap the turbo to a GT35R to see what she can do... I can't WAIT!

Here are some pictures of the kit, again keep in mind this is not production ready. Also that top mount is also just a prototype for testing and now what our production piece will look like.

RACE GAS NUMBERS!!!

Finally, The EVO X here at the shop has slowed testing a bit with having to split the projects up.

In any even I am pretty pleased. This test was done on C16 and nothing else changed.

485WHP on a top mount.... not too bad LOL

The three charts in order of lowest HP to highest are:

Stock Sti
My sti with the 30R on pump
My sti with the 30R on C16

Nice numbers on such little boost on pump. Especially with a top mount.

well the only kit is the one on my car and as you can see it buried inside the fender. It is a full cold air setup. the filter site right behind the fog light "sti" Cover and is 3.5" in diameter. The shop 05 is getting a kit here maybe I can rob there intake and take some pics

What was the weather like for this dyno run? (since the chart is uncorrected)

Do you have the chart in SAE?

The kit looks good. How are the headers, equal length or un-equal? .82 A/R?

Thanks

It has TGV deletes. Keep in mind this is only on 22 falling to 20 lbs. Right up there, if not better than most Evo's with similar mods, stock cams, and same turbo/boost level.

Very Nice looking Kit, also nice numbers with low boost. What up-pipe/ewg are you using? Any pics?

The kit comes with a proprietary uppipe that will bolt to the stock exhaust manifolds or any aftermarket header utilizing the same style flange. The wastegate is a 44mm TiAL V-band.

It was cold out as we are in chicago. the SAE numbers were 392 HP and 399 Tq. The headers are very close to equal length. The nice thing about this kit is that if you dont want to run our header you don't have to. we made it to bolt to the stock header if you like.

We are not releasing any A/R specs just yet until we finish testing all the housing options.

Thank you for being so patient. The design is done and we are just wanting on end tank fabrication. It will be worth the wait. When they are released I will give you a break on pricing to make up for your pain and suffering LOL

A green on my car in the same conditions and using the same parts made about 360 whp. 40 plus HP gain at just about the same boost (green was a pound higher if I remember correctly) is a pretty big jump.

As Eric Jones said this is an up-pipe we are including with the kit that is designed to bolt to our header or a stock header. The WG is a Tial 44mm

We hope to have some off the car assembled pics here sometime next week.

so this top mount you guys are making would be good for what horsepower level? Also are you using the stock STi shroud? Or making a custom piece that will take advantage of the larger surface area of the new intercooler?

We are not sure on the HP level recommendation at this time. Much will depend on the HP tests in the days to come. Right now its using the stock STI shroud but making one to match the new top mount wouldn't be a bad idea.
