Default OT computer nerds: help with PC not recognizing video capture card?

Specs: BFG nForce 4 mobo w/ AMD 3700+, nVidia 7800GT video w/256 MB (PCI-e), 2 GB RAM, 550 watt p/s, WinXP SP2.

I've got a VisionTek HD600 video capture card (ATi chipset) that I'm trying to install. Neither the included software, nor the Windows Device manager will recognize the card. I've tried it in all three available PCI slots to no avail. I also went back to the store and exchanged the card for an identical one.

All of my drivers are up to date (video, mobo, capture card).

Help?

No......only the one card. For the record, the PCI-e card is my video card, which works fine. The problem is with the video capture card, which is PCI. I checked my BOIS settings, too....nothing there. This is annoying as hell....I have to drive another 45 minutes one-way to return this POS.

Nothing overclocked.

Event viewer shows a slough of fails around the time I was trying to get the card working:

Quote:
The Application Management service terminated with the following error:
The specified module could not be found.

Go to the bios and enable long boot, or detailed boot.
When it boots it should show you 2 screens, first shows disk drives, memory, processors, second screen is like a table with everything. If anything, the video card should show there.

I have an ati650(same chipset) and device manager shows "Legacy video capture devices"

When I access the "Legacy Video Capture Device" shown in my device manager, it is treating it as a sound device, because it's listed under the sound, video, and game controllers. I wanted to remove it from the list to see if it would add it (and possibly ask for a driver location), but I couldn't figure out how.

In 34 minutes I'm going to go return this stupid card if I can't get it working. I'm sick of fighting with it.
