Default How to find 'proper' borla knock offs?

I recently picked up a Espelir JGT500 exhaust and thought why not get headers to go along with it since I'm gonna be working on the exhaust either way.

So how can I tell if on ebay if its a proper knockoff? I'd really prefer higher quality EL headers if there is such a thing as TWE knockoffs. (The performance is right but the price is way over my budget).

If there is no such thing as quality EL TWE knock offs and I do with UEL Borla knockoffs will it be better then the stock (power, not sound)?

Will OBX 2.5 headers fit the '06 Impreza?

Could people provide links to quality ebay auctions as examples?

Thanks in advance!

~Dex

hey dexter, is that exhaust a close bolt-on to the 2.5i's, with the stock headers?

if your espelir catback is made of an 06 2.5i, it will not fit when you get a new header and cat section.

speedyracer is a good shop on ebay that sells borla replicas.

i think first before anything you need to find and see how the two exhausts run and see the differences before you start picking and buying things.

There are no such thing as TWE knockoffs you either get the real deal or nothing. Its hard to say if id be better or not from stock since theres really no dyno proven sheets its more up to each persons butt dyno. Also you need to know that the old exhaust system was headers to a cat pipe, to a midpipe to the axleback. So you are stating you have the catback and buy the borlas, you are aware you would need a catpipe to connect the two?

And to the obx question yes they would fit, and actually the obx comes with two pieces a header piece and a fake cat pipe/resonator pipe that connects to the catback. So if you had a catback meant for prior years this would all snap together but youd be catless

Right now I am running stock and bought the Espelir JGT500.

I'm going to be installing this on an 06 Impreza. What headers would fit this?

(I'm sorry but I am really stupid I guess and not understanding)

If I'm correct, the 06 has "EL Headers" but in reality it's just the exhaust manifold running to the catback... So I hear. I'm not sure. But a used TWE may fit your budget... It's hard to find?

i just picked up a TWE that was never installed but bought a year ago, got an amazing deal on them. never seen any used ones but id check the classifieds first. And the TWE and stromung guys said that the 06-07's have the same cat/midpipe and midpipe/muffler flange locations as the previous generation... only the header/cat flange location changed.. so catback stuff should be the same for both 06-07 and previous generation stuff. and to make some borla or any headers designed for 05-previous stuff fit an 06-07 you should just need a 05-previous type cat section. There are about 1000 threads pertaining to this subject and if someone took the time to do an intelligent search or two before posting a new thread they would find all these questions answered.

yeah, im a n00b too. hope i helped you out. btw, if you do a search in the future use the advanced search option to narrow the sample of threads searched or else it can take a while to serach all the classifieds and inter/exterior mods, etc sections when you are looking for a thread pertaining to engine swap for example.

When you search ebay for "subaru impreza headers", the ones from A2Rinc or SpeedyRacer are the ones.
