Am I covered?

Hey guys i think my tranny going out every time i take it up to red line i hear a cracking noise im scarred..the only mods i have is car is lowered full exhaust and intake......am i covered or am i screwed.

It is always a toss up. I would say take it to the dealer, and if they refuse you, ask why, and then take it to another dealer and see what they say. You have a 50/50 shot at it. It doesn't sound like what you modded on the car is causing the tranny to go. Spirited driving may be the case.

SOA now wants to see pics of a car that needs warranty work for a new tranny..., to show it has a stock exhaust system.... . This is what I've heard. Do not take the advice of camshaft06. What was you saying about having the stock parts? Im not suggesting you try to pull one over on SOA, but whatever you do, I hope it works out for you.

Some think that SOA means you should drive the car the same as a typical owner would of a subaru forester. You bought the car with a turbo with more power just to say "my car has 227 HP", not to actually use it.

Does the noise happen when you push in the clutch and shift? How do you know it is coming from the tranny?

Do a search to see what happens when you take your car in for service. There are plenty of posts on here regarding what will or won't be covered. But, be prepared. If the issue is caused by your driving, it might not be covered.

Why should he not take my advice? I have taken my car in, and in my experiences it is hit and miss, but you never know until you try. Different dealers will tell you different things. I wasn't telling him to try and pull one over on SOA. If there is a problem with your car, you take it to the dealer and hope for the best. If they refuse your claim, you have the right to go to another dealer that may be more sympathetic to your case, it is a warranty issue. I don't see what is wrong with the advice I gave the poster. I had a few issues with my '02 Wrx and had to deal with this on a few occasions. I am speaking from personal experience here, and I am not just pulling BS info out of my a** here.
I think that if you are going to tell the poster to ignore what I have said, then you should maybe offer better information of your own. This is a question that no one has a 100% knowledge of, as every dealership is different. try to help the guy with his issue instead of being so fast to shoot others down for offering their opinions.
