i like OStuner. FreeECU works well too.

hmm as for my own input... maybe OSflash or ECUtuner, or go with something totally badass sounding but not as descriptive of what it is, like most product names.

FOSSTuner? Lets people know it's free as in both beer and speech, lets people know what it does.

I like JARtune.

But it does sound like it's a tool to modify/optimize JAR files. Still it's simple, unique, and generic.

I, too, like romRaider. It's a pun on the term "ram raider" used in the UK and AU to describe a thief who crashes a car into a storefront to gain entry. Ram raiders usually make their getaway in a second, fast car (stolen WRX, STI and Evo models are favorites).

I looked at internet domain names and found these which contain the string "romraid":
romraid.com
romraid.net
promraiders.com
The first two seem to be just squatting on the domain names and the third is a teen anti-tobacco site. A search of the USPTO's trademark database returned no hits for "romraider" so it looks like the domain romRaider.org could be safely registered.

Motto: All your ROM are belong to us.

I don't mind sharing the OSEcu name with Jared if it goes that route.

PM'd you turboge.

A couple more points: I'd like to be able to register .com and .org for the domain name. .org is great, but I can't believe how many people default to .com no matter what you tell them. And like tea cups said, I want to be able to just say it and people will know how it's spelled. I really liked the Enginuity name but I'm tired of spelling it out.

Also, something with "Tools" in the name would be nice, I think it conveys what it does better than "Tune." But the name isn't all that important.

Wow, great to see you back on the map (no pun intended!).

Honestly, I'm loving "romRaider," that is genius.

Otherwise some of the other good ones mentioned above are: OSTuner, OSEcuTuner, and FreeECU. Or FreeTuner, OSEcuTools, etc.

Even though JARtune is a reference to qoncept's name, I think it can be construed as a reference to Jar Heads.

I like the professional sounding names with ecu in it.

Good luck on the name selection.

I guess I'll be removing my sticker tomorrow.

TuneECU and ECUflash could work.

Time for a poll of the best few?

I (heart) FreeECU. Pronounced "Freak you."

Apple once had a project code-named Sagan.
After Carl's lawyers got involved, they changed the name.
For a while it was the "Butthead Astronomer" project.
They changed it again pretty quickly though...

That actually made me laugh out loud. I wonder how many here get the reference?

I'm glad to hear that "Enginuity" will continue .... although under a new name.

Unfortunately every name I came up with is already out there

A few I thought sounded ok

OEMtuner - Open Engine Management Tuner

OpenEMS - Open Engine Management System

EMT (pronounced EM TE) - Engine Managemet Tuner

FreeEMS Tuner (pronounced free em es tuner) - Free Engine Management System Tuner

LTF - Log Tune Flash

Tune4Free - Tune for free :P

Or plain old: eTune - as in Engine Tune (or Enginuity Tuner )

Oh, and anyone interested in helping create a new logo and/or a new look and feel for the site (that includes a phpbb2 (or maybe3?) template and a pmwiki template), please send me a pm.
