Some wheel paint from pepboys..and about an hour of my time, I think they came out great! Definitely changes the look of the car I think!

Looking good! I'd say adding the sport edition grill, or painting the polished parts black, would really complete the whole "stealth" look...

doesnt look to be any.... you can see spots where there is no paint on the spokes. looks good but was not done to perfection.

Meh, that is just the lighting.

My steps,

Remove and clean wheels,
Using painters tape, mask off tire, wrap air stem and tape off lug holes
Using flat back wheel paint, i sprayed each wheel with about 6 light coats,
I then did about 3 coats of clear.
I didn't care about prep work because I wasn't sure how it would look, But seeing it now, when I get time I plan on going back and doing it the "right" way with a lot of prep.
Buffalo roads are TERRIBLE on wheels, my town especially coats my road with sand and salt and after 500 miles I haven't noticed any chips.

One NOTE: Make sure you check your lugs 100 miles after you put the wheels on, my rear wheel was missing a lug and I torqued all the lugs tight and triple checked them!

I plan on de-chroming the front grill and the trunk.
Dare I say it, I kinda like the window trim though...breaks the car up a little.

thanks for the comments!

Truthfully, When I first checked this thread, I was looking at the wheels not the car. I thought it was a LGT. I accually like your car. The 08s are ugly, but yours looks damn good. Keep up the good work.

It's hard to tell. Both pics aren't great. Neither pic even shows the whole car, and the 2nd you have some crazy JDM-angle going on. You didn't prep the wheels for paint? Do you have any better pics?

Very nice, my friend actually did the same thing to his Maza RX8. He painted them to match his car paint and it looks decent.

Seeing as how the 07 brakes are much better than the 08's? if I recall its the same stopping distance.

Behind the front wheel there is a big dent...I have tape holding the fender liner on, and behhind the rear wheel i have a lot of tape holding the bumper on, i tried to use angles that would hide my cars flaws, like the 2 big dents/holes and my ugly NYS front plate that I taped on for a upcoming court date.

next time instead of taping the tire off, try using notecards in between the wheel and tire. This saves you like 10 min a wheel and works a lot better. I have pretty much become a pro spray painting wheels since i have done over 10 sets.

you drive a 2002 wrx.

stock for stock I think an 08 interior and exterior is way better looking.

My drivetrain and motor is also > yours.

And pleassseee don't tell me you bought the wrx because it looked hot and stylish.

I don't think any of the wrx's have an AWESOME look to them, i bought mine for the awd, turbocharged boxer motor, under 3100# and under 25 grand
