Default kartboy vs cusco shifter bushings

Anybody have experience with both kartboy and cusco bushings? Are the cuscos softer rubber/poly than the kartboys? I have the kartboys and am not sure I like the feel. I like the concept of a solid bushing but I think the material is too hard.

They are exactly the same durometer (hardness) the two differences are.
1. ours are CAST VS. Machined, thus the first one we made is identical as the last one we will make. (Long time from now)
Machining them tends to have a wider vareince from bushing to bushing. infact the sets Mark and I had in our personal cars varied quite a bit.

2. Ours are made in the Good Ol USA and cost a bit less.

hope this helps.

Hey Tom,

Did you try different durometers or did you just copy the cuscos? Any possibility you might produce a softer version of your current offering -- give us a chance to fine tune? Repeat sales -- zero tooling costs! Anybody else interested?

I am definitely interested in the softer bushings. I am assuming these are still somewhat in the "testing" phase? Can we get a price break for trying out the new bushings?

Let me know the price of the new bushings. You can PM me if you'd like.

Ok, now here's a question for those who didn't like the harder bushings: why?

What is the durometer of the SPT short shifter bushings? The mechanic at the dealership lost one of my Cusco bushings (bastard!) so he replaced it with the SPT bushings. And yes, I would've bought Kartboy but they hadn't come out yet (yeah, I'm that old school ).

BTW Tom, nice welds on Andrew's pan... too bad he picked the wrong spot and we had to tweak it around to hell. Check out the after pic (JB Welded and repainted).

Default harder bushing make more noise

I installed harder bushing for my SS (Cusco $30). Well, it makes the loudest dec noise in 4th and 5th gear. Tomorrow I will put original one back in. Does anybody know what could be wrong? I am very sure about the noise it was not like that untill I installed the harder bushing. Help please. Thanks
