What modifications do you have? Specifically braking mods, cause the stock brakes on an 04 are terrible at the track.

Power Mods: AP

HKS Down
Blitz Catback
Kartboy SS w/ bushings front and rear
Turbo XS 50.50 bov
Prodrive IC hose
SPT Intake
Rota Wheels
Cusco Front SB

Brakes:
SS Lines
Slotted Rotors
Hawk HPS pads

The brakes were fine.I know one time I went and had the stock suby pads on there with slotted rotors I melted the pads to bad that the pistons from the caliper was melting through the metal part of the pad. I have it mounted on my wall! haha. The car handled well. The only car that really gave me a tough time was the 575 superamerica. Those things handel pretty well but there was no way my stage 2 was gonna keep up with it on the straights. I hit 125 and he was probably going about 140. Oh well!

My first track day with my 04 I had porterfield R4S pads, powerslot rotors, Goodridge
lines and the super blue fluid. At first (keep in mind my first time) I had a lot of fade after a few laps but once I was told I was going in a little hot, ok a lot hot thing
got better. Did have any more trouble the rest of the day.

I thought convertibles where required to have roll bars for HPDE?

I <3 NASIOC.

cmgolfr212, thanks for giving a serious response. I was asking cause I took my '04 with pretty similar mods but all stock brakes to the track and it sucked. I had those things smoking (literally). Luckily I didn't overheat them as bad as you did, that's pretty crazy.

I just put in the same pads, and eventually I'll have similar brake upgrades before I go back to the track so I can enjoy it. What brake fluid are you using? Are you on stock springs? It doesn't look like it but you didn't list it.

Oh and Superamerica's are awesome, that's easily the coolest car that I can see. It's too bad no one has done a similar glass roof in another car.

Thanks for all the positive comments. You should be fine with some minor brake upgrades. There were 6 sessions and the brakes would feel a little spongey after about the 6th lap of usually 10. Nothing major but just a note. There were some other convertables there but there are different stage groups. I think if your in the most advanced group then you need a rollbar and a fire retardent suit.

BTW ahowell: That is the front lip but I only covered the front section of the bumper. I took it off and just replaced it with it covering the entire bottom.
