Default Any quality wheel cleaners out there?

I recently bought my wife a set of wheels for her 94 Celica (Jenna).

They are 2001 GTS wheels that I bought second hand.

Anyway, I got them in yesterday and they were NASTY!

It looks like this guy was running some super dusty brake pads and then lightly sprayed them with water and baked it in the oven at 400 degrees! I mean this stuff is caked on. The only way I've been able to get it off so far is to scrape it off with a piece of metal (but I don't want to do that on the outside of the wheel). So does anyone have a good product that they use?

Also, along the same lines....

Does anyone think that the brass brush attachment for the Dremel will scratch the hell out of the finish on the wheels?

Thanks,

Nathan

Try this:

I used to use this stuff on my old Talon with Moda wheels. Worked pretty well. If the stuff is really caked on, you might want to try some bug and tar remover. I use that stuff to take anything stubborn, off.

I would use the brass attachment. You are going to destroy the clear coat on that wheel.

Good luck!
