So in reality, a 500 CFM turbo is just a rough indication of power ability.

7cm^2 -----------------------------8cm^2

fast spool/low power----------slow spool/high power

This is your Chart of Salvation and contains the closest thing in the history of the world to what your answer is. The bigger question you need to concern yourself with is what exhaust turbine housing size you are talking about, vs. the 7 vs 8 cm^2 issue. Housing size plays a bigger role than 7/8cm^2. So buy a turbo based on housing, then fine tune that housing decision based on the variants of housings which are the figures above used in this example. Not all housings are 7 or 8 though as MHI turbos go up to 12cm^2.

And since you are local, you now owe me a beer.
