Default How many of you have been arrested for your driving activities?

Just wondering if the general badass that OT claims to be has really done some bad **** and paid the price for it. Not necessarily locked up, but at least cuffed and cruisered.

Rather unattractive pole now present.

The last time, back in '99, I got 9 tickets and my bike impounded. Got them all dismissed later in court.

Never arrested...but been to court a time or 3. Most notable:

<-Drove backwards WITH the flow of traffic on a 2 lane road at night at 25 MPH approx. A cop happened to see me. Much hilarity on his part (and that of the judge) was witnessed.

I was 16.

4 star General Badass checking in: After parking my old WRX at a buddy place's, this non-descript sedan comes flying into the parking lot and two plain-clothes detectives jump out with their guns drawn. Me:

They asked me to put my hands on the roof, cuffed me, and said a robbery suspect in the area was seen leaving in a silver sedan, so they were pulling every silver car over. After some questions and other general pleasantries, they uncuffed me, apologized, and wished me well. I did the same and then went inside to tell my buddy he lived in a ****ty ****ing neighborhood.

Badass, I say.

So let me get this right, the cop has more tickets than you?

(I got three tickets when I was younger, all speed. My first ticket ever was 58/30. That was second gear on the bike ) The other two were 79/65 and 80/65 meh.

I've never been arrested, but I've been in the back of a cop car a time or two.

Once was after an accident (I was ticketed for failure to maintain control). The other time was for a suspected DUI (I had parked on an on ramp to sleep).

for me it has been every time... But I have also been fortunate enough that each time I was arrested it was by a young/rookie cop who made one too many mistakes and did not follow SOP or did something just enough outside the lines that the lawyers were able to get stuff dropped or downgraded.

But I do feel for you guys. Granted most people do not get, or cannot afford a good lawyer, but for the ones that do the LEO have all the pressure on them from the time they pull you over to the time they place you in the cell. Anything done that is not SOP gives most good lawyers the leverage they need to get stuff tossed in court.

and don't get me wrong, I'm not proud of my past experiences and have learned my lessons. But in my experiences I have come across too many LEO's who don't have respect for their jobs and act more like Judge Dredd then Barney Fife...

So far I have had two tickets (both wiped clean via traffic school thankfully), and both were given to me by dirty cops with radars. If you need a radar just to see if someone is speeding, then chances are you're a dick.

That would imply stopping, wouldn't it?
Why do that when you can easily outrun/outwit/outplay the man?

Are you retarded? RADAR and Laser are used nationwide - hell, worldwide - for speed detection and enforcement.

And you clearly know nothing about RADAR or Laser training. When cops are trained for these devises we're taught first to estimate speed within 5mph above or below the target vehicle's actual speed, and then to use the RADAR or Laser to confirm that speed.

So, asshat, cops don't use RADAR or Laser to see if someone's speeding, we use them to confirm that someone's speeding.
