After reading this whole thread, it feels like AA for swapped Subaru owners
"Hi, I'm Scott, I've been swapped for two years. But I still have thoughts of swapping again"...

A yard full
Just finished my swap.
2002 WRX EJ205 into 1998 Legacy GT wagon.
Notes: (I'll add to this)
-I used the stock LGT 5 speed transmission. I used a clutch disc, plate and flywheel from a 2006 WRX
-Wiring was done by iWire. Brand new OEM bulkhead harness from the Legacy, complete donor chassis harness
-Taking the dashboard out sucks. Label everything. Every screw, every connector. You don't want to put it all back together and realize you missed a plug. Twice.
-I used a first generation Legacy turbo crossmember. The engine will sit higher than it does in the WRX engine bay. This is ok. The hood closes.
-I used the factory Legacy throttle cable (DOHC) and bent the WRX throttle cable bracket slightly so the cable would reach.
-I did not hook up the cruise control. Hopefully I wont miss it. The engine bay is cluttered enough.
-Relocate the PS pump reservoir. Easy enough.
-To retain the factory MAFS and airbox, I used the lower half of the Legacy air box, and the upper half of the WRX box.
-I had originally tried the "hack" method for the coolant lines. I cut the spring out of the radiator cap, added a second seal, but could never get it to completely seal. I ended up deleting the waterbox by the intake manifold. Just run a section of hose from the turbo water pipe to the crossover pipe, and set the radiator up like normal. So far so good.
-Invest in plenty of zip ties and assorted sizes and lengths of rubber hoses and clamps.
-The engine bay gets tight. A set of slim fans might help with clearance up front.
-My TMIC fit without any modification to the engine bay. However, to use the duct for the hood scoop, you'll need to cut and drill to get it to fit.
-Burp your cooling system afterwards. Theres a step by step procedure somewhere on a forum.
-I haven't installed the AC condensor and lines yet. I have all winter to procrastinate.
Oh yeah, and of course it was totally worth it. PM me if you have any questions. This job will be burned in my memory for a while.

2000 2.5 swaped obs
so i guess this is and old and short thread but heres what i did....
2000 obs with 2.2, i hydrolocked the motor being a retard so i decided to swap to a 2.5 n/a motor form a 2000 rs. All i did was swap intakes, drivers cam gear and, crank gear. it ran like crap for about 20 miles until the ecu learned how to run the motor 2 years later its running like a champ

2002 04STi Swaped RS
w/PPGS & 02 Wagon w/PPGs
91 Legacy SS automatic with 06 Impreza-i SOHC heads & converted to manual 06 Impreza-i transmission
Sadly I sold the car before it was running 100% perfect because I had like $1500 invested with the purchase of the car an parts. Then found that it was not going to be tuneable unless run on stand alone management, witch would basically more have doubled the cost.
It ran great when in boost but at idle and low RPM it was ragged and pig rich.
Full Story Here:
I also currently own a 02 Impreza RS with a 04 STi swap

I lost my 97 OBS with 02 WRX swap last year in Oct..... but I did not do that swap.....bought it already done

i guess ill chime in...
06 WRX EJ255 into a 00RS..
did the full drive line with interior swap as well so used about 90% of the WRX harness and just had to re wire the fuel pump tail lights doors and sunroof/dome/map lights... wasnt too bad though fairly straight forward if u have access to the wiring diagrams...need to tweak a couple things like my dash beam and then clean everything up yet, but functionally i am good to go!!! lots of mods on her too...plus she will be flared and painted up shortly as well
the hood is off of my DD which is Sedona Red Perl...i traded my hood from this car for an L hood as i have a front mount that just needs the piping tweaked and then ill be rockin a 9K vent
