Default Manual Transmission excluded from Powertrain 5yr/60,000 Warranty?

Lately I've begun to read my Warranty and Maintenance booklet a little more closely. I've noticed that the 5yr/60,000 mi Powertrain Limited Warranty, in the list of parts it covers, leaps from the flywheel to the propeller shaft without any mention of any manual transmission component. Here's a link to what's covered for MY2002: http://www.subaru.com/owners/care/warranty/middle.html

Am I misreading something, or does Subaru have so little confidence in its manual transmission?

EDIT: Could it be that I didn't understand the word TRANSAXLE?

It seems that the transmission is excluded based on what is in that link you posted. However, it lists torque converter and since manual transmissions don't have torque converters, it makes me think there should be another list somewhere that is for manual transmission cars.

From the 2002 Subaru Warranty and Maintenance Booklet, page 7:

"Transaxle case and internal parts"

Jon, since the Subaru trans includes the front differential, it is referred to as the transaxle.

Yes, I realized that after I made the initial post. That's why I added the subsequent "EDIT: Could it be that I didn't understand the word TRANSAXLE? " with the "roll eyes" smilie. If this board had a smilie that indicated "Gives oneself a dope slap," I would have used that, instead.
