Default Cel

car: 2000 OBS

so, the CEL came on a few minutes ago and i won't be able to have it checked until tomorrow.

the only driveability difference is it accelerates very sluggish until about 3000 rpm's then all the sudden it picks right up. no effect out of gear in terms of throttle response...only while in gear.

any initial thoughts?

Seconded this. ESPECIALLY if you haven't done any modding to the car. I do do this procedure, but only because I get the phatom CEL for my Lightweights Pulleys and know what it is every time it comes on (Misfire Cyl 1 and 2).

Ohh justa quick tidbit for the lightweight pulley/flywheel guys in an 06-07 2.5i: The CEL is totally random. I say this because I got the code 7 times in a month, and finally reset the ECU and it never bothered me even when I really romped on it (which caused the CEL). 2500 miles later and the battery died on me...and now the CEL came back on because it reset the ECU again

i fully plan on having the code read...i only posted to see if anybody else had a similar symptom.

i actually had a larger resonator installed yesterday. it was the first thing i thought of when i noticed the light. probably an exhaust sensor then huh?

What I would say to do is the same as above. Also just take it easy on your car until you know what it is.
