Default Tuning to remove boost spike after UP/DP/Monster TD04 upgrade

Hiya all... need some some quick advice.

I've upgraded my UP/DP and turbo to a Monster TD04 and now I'm gettng a nasty boost spike on WOT. I'm scheduled to take my car to a rally this weekend, and need to get this quickly tuned out so I don't hit boost cut.

Where should I start looking? Any quick tuning advice on how to rapidly remove this spike?

Thanks,

-Eric

WG duties and TD are your parameters to play with

I'd start with dropping Wgdc jut before, and during the spike. Then set targets and tune the wgdc to them.

Disable the spool and puddle option in the 12mph table as well. I'd also disable the "reentry is not a bitch" option.

For real though watch that WGDC. Altering TD to might help boost oscillation as well. Mayhaps look into a prodrive BCS.

Guys, thanks for the advice. I'll try to give it a shot tonight. Regarding the BCS, no time; event is this weekend, so I'll need to address the issues asap.

I can't remember offhand - are the wgdc and td variables a 3d table, or just a single linear option?

Thanks,

-Eric

Both are 3d (rpm x throttle)

for a short run fix since you need it this weekend, you should just tweak the WSGT DC's. The turbo dynamics will take you more time, since you havent done it before.

Also, I had the same problem on my td04 and spent weeks tweaking it in my spare time and could never get rid of it. I was using the stock BCS and I also tried a MBC. Then i slapped a 16G on and used the stock BCS and the dip was gone without changing any of the turbo dynamics values. I chalked it up to the wastegate on teh td04 sticking or something like that.

What do you folks use to log wgdc? It doesn't seem to pull up with Enginuity.

Thanks,

-Eric

I thought so - I checked the site, and the file is dated Dec 3 2007 on my laptop. I don't see anything in the list associated with WG, only the turbo dynamics stuff.

Found the parameter this AM. Not sure why I didn't see it last night.

Anyway, tried to romp on the car to do some datalogging, and couldn't get it to hit on boost cut. Held strong to 17psi, so I guess I'll just chalk it up to fix later.

Thanks fellas!
