Question Anybody install a ludespeed turbo kit?

In a month or two, I will be attempting to install a ludespeed (Stage II or III....can't decide) turbokit on my Forester. I have heard nothing but rave reviews from ludespeed. Since I am apparently the first person to do this to a Forester, I can't ask any Forester owners about an install, so I am turning to you Impreza tuners.

I was wondering...

How difficult is the kit to install yourself? How long does it take?
What kind of performance gains are you getting (0-60 and 1/4 mile)
What kind of gas mileage are you getting?
Any problems with the kits?

I'd love to see any pics of a finished ludespeed system so I can see where parts would fit on mine.

Thanks.

Wow, good luck turboing a forester... having the fastest SUV in the city would definately be the talk of the town.

I'd say do a search, this has been discussed many times, and many reviews have been written up, including one by me.

if you download the install instructions from larry's site imprezars.com or if you can download the ludespeed instructions it shows very well where stuff for a turbo kit is layed out, the one from imprezars.com being for the jcsports kit, but they're all pretty much layed out the same.

congrats on getting the turbo, and good luck hopefully there won't be any fitment problems with the forester. keep us informed and take lots of pics, I wish I woulda brought my camera to the install, but I forgot (too excited )

Supposedly there are 3 turbo forester 2.5's over here in north america... I have never seen a single one post though. I think it's just like the Impreza, not much problem, but you'll have to deal with the hood scoop issue, though.

How did you hear about there being 3 turbocharged American Foresters? Any idea where they are from?

I think I read about them in the Forester forum. From what I understand, I think most of them are Canadian, though. I was looking into doing it, but couldn't afford the trade from the RS... maybe in a year or two I'll just get a Forester as a supplemental vehicle.

Well the Ludespeed Turbo Kit Stage II I put in with help from another Subaru owner took quite a while. I would suggest a full weekend of putting it in.

There were a few little snags that caused it to take longer. Such things were improper fitment. But that could be because of a million things, since no two Subaru's are the same. So pushing and pulling, maybe even slight bending and trips to Home Depot are required.

As for increased peformance. I have only a 2 1/2 inch Turbo Back exhaust and a drop in Amsoil Air Filter. But even with that I can hang easily with a Stock WRX at 5 PSI. The low end though I pretty much crush a WRX till about 40 then you are about equal and the top end they have me. But who does 140 on a highway in the city.

For gas milage, I drive every day in probably the worse traffic possible. Since the the Turbo was installed I have not gotten worse or better milage. it will stay about the same, even with bigger injectors and proper tuning.

Pictures, I don't have any but can take some and post it, sometime...
