Default So I got my heart broken by a Heart breaker

I was curious as to what my car was making so i brought it to the dyno. This was on a mustang dyno.

when i initially got tuned back in june, my uppipe gasket went on the dyno. My tuner couldnt tune anymore, and i was left with 250whp on a hub dyno.

I was upset, but after fixing the uppipe leak i re-dynoed my car on a dynajet and made 315 wheel.

Since then my alky injection ran into some problems and stopped working. fortunatly enough for me, the tune wasnt aggressive enough to blow my motor.

My mods are

8cm 18G
750cc detchwerks injectors
catless exhaust
fmic

this was with out the alky injection working.

i dont think its too bad for a tune i made 250 on!

BTW...I actually dynoed in at 271 wheel 273 tq

but when you add the smoothing to the graph it took away a few HP

There's some knock correction @ 5500rpm.

The filter value is high considering the graph isn't smooth but maybe there's some other setting to the dyno other than the filter value that determines how smooth it is that we're not seeing.

Sounds like solid numbers, congrats. Do you know what stock Sti's or stock WRXs put down on this dyno? Not all mustangs are heartbreakers.

I dont know what stock sti's put down on there. I was the first WRX to ever be dynoed on there. They do all german cars at that shop.

But it also is bumpy because the car was a little bouncy due to the front wheel being ontop of the roller

Don't know about other people, but it's really annoying when someone says "there's knock correction" based on a dip in a dyno graph.
There are many many other things that cause a power dip.

Judging by the AFRs, this could very well be true since it says that 11.5 is the richest it ever got and the average is 12.4. However, if the car has a catalytic converter and the readings were taken at the tailpipe, those would be very reasonable AFRs as CATs lean out the reading 5-9 points (.5-.9 AFR). Regardless, it isn't a cool thing to drop in there on someones thread without something a little more constuctive to add.

CONSTRUCTIVE:

OP,
Is this supposed to be a meth map? If so, I wouldn't recommend driving it at full throttle. I do not know your timing, however, if it was designed for meth, it is probably more aggressive than is desired for a lean AFR like that (if the readings were taken pre-cat).

Please be careful. Don't take it for granted. These engines are more fragile than many people realize.

Also, your numbers aren't too bad. Most 2L WRX's on our mustang make about the same HP with an 18G and a FMIC. Go up the road to another mustang and it'll read 300whp.

I general don't make comments like that BUT because the AFR were so lean for pump gas & the 1st post said 'catless exhaust' I didn't figure it was out of line. I probably should have given some more reason to why I thought it was KC but I didn't. Oh well.

Let me get this straight....
1) Got "partially tuned" on a dyno and made 250whp since your up pipe gasket blew, the tuning was stopped?

2) After repairing the up pipe leak, you just redyno'd the car and had no tuning? Purposely getting dyno'd on a dynojet to get a nice high number?

3) You alky injection stops working

4) Are you running on the alky map still? As others said it appears you are based on the lean AFR's.

I think you might want to see Junior @ the Shop or Chris @ XX tuning since they are local

not the first

this is my boy Tony's shop. I tune my car there as well, when the engine isn't out of it so I can't give you a real relative value as I went back in may of 06 and do not know if anything's changed. I made high 380's on my pump gas tune of 24psi on a green and 22t. We really leaned it out though to mid 11's afr after peak torque. Shortly there after I was trapping high 116's on that tune at the track w/ not so hot 60 foots.

Why'd you go there and not to the hub dyno you originally used to see gains?

I had my 2006 WRX baselined on Kito's Mustang Dyno. The numbers were 177 hp and 204 tq. I was told that was actually pretty good for a stocker on their "heartbreaker."

I'd love to see what my Stage 2 numbers are sometime.

My dyno at Kitos was 234 hp with a vf30. I was sad.
