Default 04 forester xt trans swap into 02-05 wrx

Hey all just wanted to post this here. Due to only finding one person who had done this swap before with very little info. I wanted to share what you need for this nice swap. The parts you will need is the transmission of course ha. The rear diff since the stock wrx is a 3.90 and the forester used a 4.44 and 04 forester xt front axles. Everything else you reuse. This is a nice setup due to being all around stronger and having shorter gearing making autocross and back road driving a blast. You will have a lower top speed and get a tad worse gas mug but honestly if you are mildly building a subaru who's looking for good gas mug XD and top end isn't so useful anyway haha. Hope this helps anyone else that wants to do this swap out. If you guys have any questions feel free to comment below

I just did the same swap. Which shifter linkage did you use, the wrx or the forester? Which driveshaft did you use as well? This is an awesome swap like you said! The STi male axles are also interchangeable for the fronts as well.

Simple swap. Just do a tranny and rear diff swap and run the correct clutch/fw for the tranny.
