xpt releases launch control

launch control has been released by XPT as an update to their maps in conjunction with Romraider. For those of you who have already purchased an XPT map, you should have received an email with a link to the new download which is FREE. If you dont have an XPT map already, a stage 2 map with LC is only 50 bucks.

just read through all the posts in the other thread. I already downloaded the update and reflashed my car, now trying to activate the feature with no luck downloading Romraider. Already downloaded the new values and stored them in the metadata directory but cannot open the ZIP Romraider file to change values.

Check your info, STI maps cost more.

Am I the only one having trouble trying to activate this feature? Just need to download Romraider for Vista.

Edit: Found the new site and downloaded directly from it.

How do you alter the engine and vehicle speed peramiters? I can view them ok but can't change them to my desired settings.

If you are using xswrex's launch control patch - don't you think you should at least acknowledge his efforts in your post?

dude why is everyone so bent on putting each other in their place? This is the problem with this site..EGO...c'mon. What about those less computer savy that need a bit of help trying to figure this thing out....no one can help huh????

So, what you're saying is that they don't need to give any credit, and that nobody is helping anyone with the patches?

Fact is, xpt didn't "release" anything. I came in expecting a new system, including 32bit support. Turns out its just pre-patching for their customers, so that makes this thread somewhat of an advertisement from a non-vendor..

dude I understand all of this, I was just frustrated that this guy could post in response to shake his finger at the next guy but couldn't post to help someone. And by all means tinywrex deserves all the credit in the suby community for developing this capability!

Don't take it the wrong way but why should I help you? If you paid XPT for a "launch control" enabled ROM, then XPT should provide you support.

And you expecting me to help is just as absurd because to tell you the truth, I don't know anything about tuning WRX ROMS or XPT or how to change any setting of the launch control

Lastly, I quoted and responded to the OP - something that ppl do in every forum, don't get your knickers in a knot because I didn't go out of my way and find a solution to your problem.

May I suggest if you have a support question for XPT, go to their forum or start your own thread and outline your problem. That way you will have the best chance of getting an answer.

Seriously, lets get off our soap boxes and put away the bibles here...yes I gave credit where credit was due. But c'mon I think some of us have forgetten what the purpose of this forum is. And I was pissed that I couldn't get any help from people exploring this topic that's all. And if you don't know anything about XPT then maybe you should reread the topic of this thread. And I have contacted Braden before posting here, he hasn't responded yet and I was just trying to figure this out with some of my fellow Suby friends.

This "forum" (thread) was to notify NASIOC members that XPT "releases" launch control. It is not your personal thread for support. Stop being a fool about it.

except i have absolutely no affiliation with XPT and am making NO money on anything they do. I am a customer, I paid for my map just like the next guy. I posted to inform about a development from XPT, not because them making money makes a difference to me.

Still, ppl should know that it was xswrex that created the patch and not XPT and thanks to his efforts XPT can now add launch control to their ROM images.

Anyhoo, ppl reading this thread will know now

I was going to say, that is not the guy that does XPT maps. I dont really think he is charging extra, he just released updated defs so the folks that had the XPT maps could add LC.

But I do believe that xswrx deserves a lot of credit and a big thanks (and donations!) for releasing that to everyone.

Thanks xswrx for the patch and thanks XPT for being responsive and added that ability for your maps.

Not that I am aware of. I do however know that there is a large difference between the XPT maps that are free and the ones that you pay for. I would def. pay for the map, its well worth it. I used a free stage 1 map for a while before i went to stage 2 and I wasnt all that impressed.

+1...I have XPT's stage 2.5 map and it rocks, driveability below 3000 RPM's came back and power is smooth! Cobbs stage 2.5 can't compare.

The person who designed LC got credit and XPT sent him a decent amount of money for his efforts.
