I wonder if to avoid drilling into the quarter panel. If you could use 3M tape, like people use for there sti splitters? Wonder if that would look/hold just as good.

Just got a set of these fenders so all I need now is the STi bumper for my bugeye.

Got a whole lot of changes for it and this was one, so thanks for the write up!

The over hang cant' be that much. You can probably blend it in with some fiberglassing, or by using part of a universal flare. It would take some fabricating, but it could be done.

Like I said I would do it, but as of right now I don't have the money for wider wheels or ones with a lower offset, and it would look retarded on my stockers.

So, to get more clearance under the fender, did you cut the lip? or roll it?

I am running 255/35's on 18x8.5's 47 offset with no issues. I just removed the black rubber strip from the fender well. If you need more, a small roll will do, DO NOT CUT IT!

on my car now with 235/40/17's on a 17 x 8 44 mm offset wheel, the tire was rubbing the black strip. I rolled my fenders and cut back my black strip and now I don't have to worry about it, but if I ever go wider it looks like I might need to roll the lip all the way to a sharp crease flush with the outside of the fender. If i cut them off and the plastic wheel arch covers it then I can probably go even wider. I'll have to look at my buddy's '07 STI to see how the fender is arranged under there.

sti owners should come through and make a template. all they gotta do is use a panel pop and hell even trace paper will do with some simple measurements included and snap that b**** back on.

I wouldn't if I was an STI owner... high probability of breaking the clips when taking off the trim... I am going to do this mod eventually to my car... when the time comes, I won't need a template. Just use a sharpie marker.

BTW, on my buddy's 2007 STI, there is no part of the fender that I had to roll out of the way. That is, that in order to emulate exactly what is going on with his car, I can cut the lip off.

actually, it's a bad idea to operate power tools after drinking alcoholic beverages.

for real fun, think about cutting a hole in your roof, or drilling holes in your C pillar.

My name says it all

<-----------------

But I guess after making it through two tours in Iraq, totaling 2 1/2 years and rescuing my friends after their blackhawk got shot down and not getting shot down myself (just a few bullet holes in the tail rotor), what do I have to lose?
