Default Anyone know how to contact SOA

I too have been having the"whine" that occurs under decelleration in various gears ar various speeds. I brought
the car in the rep noted that the problem did exist but said it was normal. I told him just because many cars make the same sound doesnt make it ok, he agreed but said there is nothing he can do
until SOA makes some kind of offical notice to the dealers.
I ahve heard on this board of people getting this problem fixed.

I do not abuse or race this car, whats my move guys?

Thanks guys now I need advice on how to handle the situation.
I just called SOA and they tell me that the sound is normal
and that until i get a delaer to say its not normal, I am SOL.

What do you think is the best way to take care of this?

Try taking it to an independent mechanic...especially someone who works on a lot of Subarus (if you can find one).

I'm not sure if SOA will even listen to them, but it would be nice to have someone back you up and say this is *not* normal.

That is what I did. Carlsbad Subaru said there was no tranny problem. Three visits, still no problem. I took my car to an independent tranny shop, he wrote down what was wrong, took it in t dealer and problem fixed. SOA even paid me back money I had to put out for this independent diagnosis.

The idea of taking it to an independent mechanic is a great one
BUT when I talked to SOA they told me that if i took it to an independant mechanic, I would be responsible if he harmed anything. I think its very strange they would say that, I didnt even mention it to them, they just said it ???
