Default Stg 2 Wrx tmic Q's

Hello Nasioc, I was curious if an oem Sti tmic would be beneficial in any way to a stage 2 Wrx. 2005 Wrx ej205 Cobb intake/post maf, Perrin turbo inlet, Samco tmic hose, Cobb up & down pipes, Cobb Ap stage 2 93 octace.

If it would be beneficial, would an 04-05 Sti tmic be a better fit than 06-07?
Would I need anything other than the tmic and maybe bpv gasket? Would the scoop and splitter be required, or optional?

If it would not be beneficial in any way, what would be required to have the Sti scoop with my stock Wrx tmic? Just the scoop and my stock Wrx splitter? Or would I use the Sti splitter with the Sti scoop? Or would using an Sti scoop with the Wrx tmic be worse than keeping the Wrx scoop?

Thanks in advance guys.

You are over thinking this. Check the intercooler faqs. A STI intercooler would help a little. Prolly not enough to notice however (general rule of thumb is it takes about a 10% bump in power to feel a difference).

Many of us use an sti top mount intercooler on our wrx. There is tons of info on it, just search. The scoop is also good to do for more air to the intercooler. It is best to have the matching spliter so the air is directed over the bigger intercooler.

I've been reading that it would not do so well with an ots stage 2 map, and would pretty much require a custom tune. Guess I will hold off, unless someone in the know says different.

Would I need the Sti splitter to go with the Sti scoop/Wrx tmic? Or reuse the Wrx splitter?

You need to read the post titled TMIC FAQ. This is Step 0 of the thought process with regard to getting a bigger TMIC and you have skipped it. Go read it.
