Thanks Zepp

From expierence yes you can. I've had a custom straight mid-pipe and a sti axle back on my car for almost 4,000 miles with no CEL ever.

Default UEL Headers

After reading all of this stuff,...it seems kinda confusing. Im assuming the easiest way would be to get a set of headers such as this....
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Subar...QQcmdZViewItem

OR, you could get wrx headers and modify them to work...is this correct?

Thanks guys!

I couldnt tell you honestly because I got the mid and axle back off a local member from here. I have no official numbers or anything but I'd say there was a little difference. I replaced just the axle back first for about two weeks and noticed no change other than the sound. However after replacing the mid, it did seem to have a little more pep according to my butt dyno Also made a lot more noticable difference in sound.

Which jives with what Raceface and I were saying in the other thread - http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...4#post21112024

CN: Cats hamper flow, anything after the cat is just a sound modifier.

Just thought i would say, the headers for a WRX WILL NOT fit the 2.5i, wont clear the Oil Pan. just sent them back and am buying the RS ones

ok, i'm going to have to step in.....

i've done the WRX header on my 2.5i, i've posted up pictures before. i've also have NO cats, and NO CEL's! thats right, no check engine lights.

people that say, "ohhh, go with borla/RS headers, it's cheaper", BULL****! i spent a total of $240.00 which was buying the WRX header, having it modified/installed [relocation of 2nd o2], and having a mandrel bent mid-pipe section done.

and here is the location of the 2nd o2 sensor... [the first o2 is located on #3 runner]

Am I the only one here wondering why some company doesn't just step up and make UELs for our cars so we don't have to transform our whole exhaust system for a relatively simple mod???

hey Vizzionz by going through all the work it took to mod the wrx headers..was it worth it.. i mean did you see much of a difference in performance? or did you just want the "boxer sound" i think its cool that you did that man.

I'll be picking up a set of STI headers, and doing the same mod ^^.
You'll see some progress in a couple weeks or days.
