I was on my way to work a few weeks ago and passed like a 95 or 96 Honda prelude pulling out of a gas station. I got about a mile away and it came flyin up on my ass. I gave it some gas and took a hill at about 85 and it stayed right on me, for the next few miles it was right on my bumper i couldnt pull away not even a few feet. I went anywhere from 70 to 90, when i hit this long straight i floored it. When the needle hit 110, he whips out beside me waves and takes off like a bat out of hell. I have never seen a car take off like that at 100 plus, within seconds he was like 10 car lengths in front of me i just let off and went back to 55 and let him go. I knew the VTEC preludes where fast but damn.

The guys car was obviously heavily tuned...if you were doing 110 and he passed you like you were standing still he probably had a turbo...

NO Not NOS it is the Jackson Supercharger. My friend has one and top end is incredible now well so is low end .Get this on stock prelude tires he was running high 12's on the 1/4 mile and he said he was afraid to use slicks because of the axles breaking.
He could burnout the first 1/8th. They are fast stock but killer this way 1 question did you pull him off the line .Mine friend was so pissed cause I could get him there. |

I mistook a Grand National for an "old beater". In my defense, it was dark out and I didn't get a good look at it until it flew by me at around 90. Luckily nobody was around to witness my shame. The damned thing made me look like I was standing still. |

Wow a 12 second FWD without slicks. I think the guy that told you that story belongs on the same island as one of my old high school buddies I recently ran into. He says "I have an Eclipse running 12 seconds". Ive seen this car. Its a 97 NA Eclipse. Unless he's squirting massive juice I am calling his bluff.
Talk about sleeper. I would love to take a 94-95 Impreza L and drop a WRX motor and driveline in and tune the heck out of it. Frederick is an area where its easy to find a race with mildly modified Comaros and Stangs that haven't figured out that speed is all in P/W ratio. |

Ok guys. I'm going to give you the real deal about the Buick Grand Nationals. Ylexot is right in that Grand Nationals only came in black, but the T-type is in fact faster then the Grand National depending on the year. The 84 and 85 GN's and T-type's had the 3.8 Liter V6 Turbo engines, but they were not intercooled. The 86 and 87's were. The T-types were actually a little lighter then the GN' so they were a little faster, but only a few people bought them. In 87, they came out with about 550 GN special editions called the GNX. These were the fastest production cars at one time. With a regular GN or T-type, spending $1500 can make the 86 and 87's run 11.4 in the 1/4 mile. A suggestion for you all is that if one challenges you to a race, be afraid...BE VERY AFRAID!
