Default Element Hydra Nemesis 2.6 Sneak Preview

Here is the latest Nemesis 2.6 Hydra in all it’s glory. We listened to you (well most of you ) and here it is. You are seeing it here first.

The main window is now more “Windows” like in that you can move around each tuning window. You can also define the layout to your preference.

As you can now see you can data log while viewing the main tuning screen. Logging parameters are user definable now.

When in using “Autotune” now the software will place the exact percentage your fuel map is off in any given fuel cell. You can then use the multiply/divide feature to correct that cell manually and precisely now. Volumetric Efficiency fuel tuning is also now an option.

The boost control system is more advanced than ever with boost target, coolant temp boost trim, air temp boost trim, tps boost trim, boost upper limit, maximum boost (boost cut), and gear based boost trim. All this lets you define how you prefer boost response based on TPS and allows you to limit boost when coolant temps are too low or too hot and most importantly lets you compensate for large weather changes that can often add 2-3 psi of boost change.

More programmable user definitions have been added.

A number of features have been added to the closed loop fuel control but the most important has been the addition of the “Wide Closed Loop TPS” which allow you to define the closed loop limit based on TPS now.

The tuning categories are broken down into more logical sections such as “2D Staring” etc. All 3D Maps are now fuel resolution with 1024 load cells.

There is so much more and it’s awesome!

Thanks,
Phil

so when is this coming out and can you tell us the price of it by itself and with the wideband? Also with the new advancements in boost control would their be any point of using a electronic/manual boost controller?

We like to keep it short and sweet

The final price has yet to be determined but it will likely be about +$200 more than the Nemesis 2.5 but we may not increase the price initially. We have talked about a special release price.

What about mouse input?
Cut/Paste?

Those are glaring weaknesses.

Yes of course the Nemesis 2.6 EMS will be available for the WRX, STI, and RS for all model years.

Mouse point and click of the 32x32 was vetoed by me and others due to laptop usage issues while tuning inside of a car. It's not going to happen in this version but may in future versions. Navigation of the 32x32 maps is still via arrow keys.

Cut and paste, multiply and divide, and more have been added.

Thanks,
Phil

Yes, the point is that we can use excel outside of the tuning software to do very quick data manipulation. That's much easier with mouse input, but I will take cut/paste as a start.

I should point out, with mouse input, I could actually make effective use of the graphs. When you can't grab and rotate them, they are significantly less useful. However, if I can cut-paste into and out of excel, that's less of an issue.

Is there a release date yet? More importantly to me what is the date and cost I can send my boxes in to get updated? Looks nice, I can't wait to try it out in person.
ThankS

Will this release be buggy like the last one? I recall some serious issues with the last one on the STi's.

This will not be released until it's perfect and that's why we really aren't giving a release date yet but we are optimistic for April. I've had a version of Nemesis 2.6 since November so it's definitely been in beta for quite some time now.

Thanks,
Phil

It's only 9 months away... It will be here before you know it

At least until then there is the 2.5 version which is still perfectly good for most intents and purposes

Quick question... will our existing maps import to V2.6 without tweaking?

At this point everything imports but the 3D PWM maps since the resolution has been increased to a full 32x32. When it's released I will have imported these maps manually but currently we only use these for the closed loop AVCS, Open loop AVCS, and Hydramist 3D Water Injection mapping.

With that said there are new maps that to be taken advantage of will have to have new maps made for such as boost pressure compensation for air temp, coolant temp, and tps.

Thanks,
Phil

Yes all Nemesis 2.5 boxes can have the circuits and flashes upgraded but the price is TBD.

Sorry but Nemesis 2.0 boxes cannot be upgraded due to hardware limitations. There is talk about an trade-in program however but no pricing info on that just yet.

Thanks,
Phil
