injen makes a cold air that comes in two pieces so you have the option of just using the short ram. i ran that for about 6 months then i put the rest of it on (the cold air) and i will tell you, its a lot torqier... much better performer and a deeper sound, not so raspy.

Fujita also makes the same set up. the injen runs like $240 and the fujita is around $310... and answer you question, they both do make short rams specificly, but i was just telling you about my experiences with the sr vs the cai... hope i was a little helpful

Did you experience any of the low end torque loss some are talking about, or does it seem to have more torque throughout? I've had an Injen kit sitting on the floor since Christmas. I've been debating putting it on hearing about the noise and torque loss some have reported.
Thanks.

not really noticeable... i did a DIY grounding kit shortly after and made sure i put a ground on the Trottlebody, and that seemed to make up for it. you really feel the difference around 2500 and on... nice pull for a 2.5. i have the same intake on both my forester and my 2.5i... the 2.5 i has a 5spd, and i honestly felt no lost of low end at all.

when it was a short ram there was a very noticeable drop in low end, so when i put the cold air piping on, it made a huge difference. i would never go with a short ram...
