Default Wheels, offset, and warranty (in Canada)

I have my WRX on order, and had a brief chat about aftermarket wheels when the dealer. I asked them this question: "any warranty concerns with aftermarket wheels?"

The answer was very interesting, especially after reading each and every comment in The Offset Information Thread. We all know that wheels, like the OZ Superleggera will fit, but if you've read the thread you know that mere "fit" involves some compromises and possible impact to wheel bearings etc. The Superleggera is available in an ET48 wheel, however that may be lower than Subaru's specified offset for your vehicle. Knowing this, I wasn't very surprised to get the answer that aftermarket wheels are fine as far as warranty coverage... as long as the "exact offset" is maintained. Even a 5mm difference was stated as being a risk to warranty coverage.

I let them know I was looking at the Prodrive wheels specifically for Subarus... no issue there.
