Sorry to stir the Legacy wagon stuff up again SOA. I was just thinking that the cost you are incurring for the WRX/STi vs the Impreza sedan are significant.

You could just put lower suspension on the OB, remove the cladding and be so close to a Legacy wagon, very cost effectly. I can remove the cross-bars myself. Then again if I am really serious I can change the suspension myself. Just like a warranty.

Peace,

Greg

SoA Blog I asked this earlier as well. I am in the market for STI either '10 or '11. I wanted to know when SoA will announce the pricing for the '11 model. Also when can the dealers start accepting orders for the hatch, and when will they be coming to dealer lot.
Thanks.

Hi - sorry to be vague but cars should be on dealer lots in August. Pricing will be soon but not immediate.

I'm guessing that it takes too much time to certify for CA

YES bring the legacy wagon back. Or at least drop the Pontiac Aztec sidebody cladding on the outback. I love the car but the cladding makes it look really cheap.

Thanks for the response.

I will wait patiently for the pricing info on the 2011 now, since its very hard to get a 2010 model in the color I want (grey) in 200 mile radius of me. All I could find was wrb or red in the non SE version. And even though I would have preferred by June/July, August seems fine by me.

SOA Blog, when are we going to see a new concept car... perhaps one in a 7 or 8 seat derivitive (wink wink)? I know of a certain 7 seat Subaru that is near the end of its 5 year run and is due for a new model like in the next year or two...

SOA Blog: Would y'all ever consider offering Recaro seats even as an option?

Is the motor stronger than before?

Will you ever bring the Spec C over here?

Will you ever change the turbo to a bigger one?

Question to SOA Blog, since this came up on a different thread:

Is the 2011 STI (and/or WRX) moving to a Turbo arrangement like in the 2010 Legacy GT ? In other words, even though the power/Torque remains identical to the 2010 versio of the STI/WRX, the Turbo is being re-located, modeled on the 2010 Legacy GT ?

I personally would LOVE such an arrangement (since it enables quicker spool-up) but wanted some confirmatory feedback. I am of course looking seriously at the 2011 STI hatch.

The thing that triggered this curiosity in me was the fact that even though the engine power output and all other parameters sounded identical to the 2010 models, the EPA mileage numbers indicate TBD in the finalized 2011 STI specs. Why would it be "TBD", if it is identical to the 2010 models ?

The new layout can't be put on the old chassis with the traditional engine cross member. Requires the new cushy engine craddle. So careful what you wish for.

Well they were able to cram similar layout with the diesel engine with the traditional engine cross member, but it's not quite the same setup (turbo is offset to the side, not in the center). I think it fit only due to extra compact nature of the diesel 2.0 plant.

I suspect the demise of the Legacy wagon is regulation related. Not sure if it would be DOT, EPA or CAFE regs, but the Outback is classed as an SUV for a reason.

Too bad, as I'd like an LGT Wagon as well.

I can't remember if it was covered previously or not.....

Was there a specific reason why the Forester has not acquired a 5spd auto, inherited from the Legacy? Weight/Size/Too much surplus of 4spd sitting in a warehouse?

SOA Blog,

The 2011 Legacy/Outback info just came out. http://media.subaru.com/index.php?s=43&item=171

It does not mention HID headlights. Does this mean that the Legacy/Outback still do not have this option while all others do?

Can you please confirm this.

When will more details come out regarding the 2011 WRX's? Saw on another forum that ordering will start on 6/5. Can this be confirmed? Will option package info be released by then?
