^^Unofficial answer: we should get diesels in a few years and hybrids a few years after that. There is also the RWD Subaru/Toyota small car coming ...

Dees421 - I like SOA Blog on here, so try reading his posts. He's not on here to answer questions per se - more to clear up misunderstandings. Instead of posting a question like that on here (where you are rightfully a bit peeved), just call Subaru and get them on the situation. There are other posts on here where people have had the fix done, so it looks like the part has been available for awhile. Maybe your dealer doesn't know or whomever your speaking to doesn't know. I think Subaru's customer service number is in the Owners Manual. Or, on Subaru.com, I've contacted them via the 'contact us' section. They respond really quickly and they don't just give you an automated 'canned' reply. Then, come back on here and report on how it goes. That seems a much quicker way to get it handled while still keeping SOABlog on here and happy with us.

Feelin' the love SOABlog? You are appreciated!!

Ah, misunderstood you. You meant passenger seat, not driver seat. Good thing I didn't try to flame you! Insert foot in mouth!

My mistake also... totally read past your use of the word "passenger". Apologies to you.

Still, Subaru has height-adjustable power seats in three of its five models. They've got the ability to put these in Impreza & Forester (& on the passenger side of 'em all as well), but they're just not implementing it. Maybe SOA'd have to pay for more safety tests or certifications if gov't regulations consider power versions of the seats to be different.

SOA Blog - now that information is being released on the 09 Legacy, can you tell us if Bluetooth is available? I know you can't speak of future information, but come on...it's so close...

Sorry, it's not. At least not as a port installed option, and I HIGHLY HIGHLY doubt it will show up as a dealer add-on. This is going to be a very short run of 09s - I'm guessing they will stop production in November/December while they ramp up for the 2010s.
But you can count on it in 2010. And a bunch of new tricks, too. Subaru is catching up with the tech.

I sure hope you're right about that as that's an area in which Subaru is really hurting—and not just in Legacys and Outbacks, but in all model lines.

Noted. But SOA Blog said it was avalible and I called SOA Customer Relations (David Boyer) and he said that he didn't know if it was avalible yet (sort of sounded like he didn't know about it). He is suppose to call me back this week and I can update when that happens.

SOA Blog - Are there going to be any financing incentives for June 08? The last round of incentives expired yesterday and I cannot find updates on any of the usual sources.

Complaints from another forum regarding '09 Forester seating position:

"The front passenger seat rides too low relative to the dash -- makes you feel like you're sitting in a hole, at least compared to the '08. In fact, our main reason for getting the LL Bean was for the power driver seat: We could not raise the manually adjusted driver seat high enough for my wife's comfort in the '09 Premium; the power seat goes higher. I wish they had kept the higher seating position."
http://townhall-talk.edmunds.com/dir.../.f178d36/1498

"I also expected some seat adjustments for the passenger , even if manual. Doesn't the passenger seat comfort matter?"

Here's some more I stumbled across for ya, SOA Blog, just in case you thought customers had stopped complaining.

Has anyone else noticed that the front passenger seat is lower than the driver's seat? How awkward or annoying is this? Any solutions?
http://townhall-talk.edmunds.com/dir.../.f178d36/1541

I agree with you about the front passenger seat. It's like sitting in a hole. I wonder why Subaru did not put a height adjuster on that seat, or just mount it at the high point of the driver's seat. Of all the things on our '09 Forester, the low front passenger is one thing I strongly dislike.
http://townhall-talk.edmunds.com/dir.../.f178d36/1542

Is it lower than the drivers seat fully declined? It is something I've noticed in other vehicles also. Usually takes the upper level trims in upper end vehicles to expect passenger height adjustments. But Subie doesn't offer it in any model which I think is an oversight if Subie wants to be upscale. ...
http://townhall-talk.edmunds.com/dir.../.f178d36/1546

My wife had the same complaint about passenger seat, It is unfortunate that is does not have the same adjustment as the drivers seat. ...

thanks Keepclam,

and as I said before, like with any issue, if enough feedback comes from dealers/consumers/clinics etc - and it's something that can resonably be fixed, we try to fix it. We'll keep a watch on this.

Just thought I would through into the mix that I too would like some height adjustment on the passenger side (2008 WRX here) ... oh and Direct Injection.

I'll look into it.

I did check and the last one was 2 years ago and while the guys enjoyed having you here, it was felt it wasn't well attended.

the first year wasn't well attended because of it being a "first year event"

the second one nobody showed up because nobody knew about and when i did post it, it was too late for people to change their plans. also it was raining that morning and it finally blew out around 12:00ish.

i did post in nasioc and legactgt.com and had about 130 that voted to go.

102 at nasioc. read the thread, almost all are upbeat about. and don't do it on the same day as "the wicked big meet"

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1266941

you also need to have the area dealer post it in their showrooms with a pile of instruction sheets on how to get there.

The 08 STI wipers and the 09 Forester wipers are easily the best wipers I have ever used, will those style wipers be utilised across the model range?

For the record the 09 Forester wipers fit on the 03-08 Foresters and the 08 STI wipers fit on the 02-07 Impreza
