Would there be a chance for SOA to post up some potential accessories with approximate MSRP so we can help guide you to the proper path?

how many more miles to the gallon do we get with front wheel drive as opposed to all wheel drive in a legacy?

somebody must have done a study at subaru.

My guess is between 2-3mpg.

Considering Subies get better or equal mpg compared with many of their FWD competitors anyway, I don't think it's really worth pursuing. Subaru's done an excellent job in this area, IMHO.

Should be easy enough to look up the numbers for the FWD and AWD Impreza models (both Europe and Japan, right?)

I don't think FWD is out in Europe yet (I know it was rumored... was that ever confirmed for production?).

Here's JDM Impreza 2.0i AT:
FWD = 14.4 km/liter
AWD = 14.0 km/liter

The difference looked to be greater in the smaller 1.5 engine, which would work harder to compensate for the extra weight. The 2.5 we get in the States would probably be even less of a difference between FWD and AWD, but just for the sake of having a number to work with, let's use the JDM 2.0i from above. That's somewhere around 3%. So I could take a ballpark guess and say, all else being equal, a Legacy averaging 27 MPG combined city/highway would see an increase under 1 MPG if it were FWD.

I'm guessing this has already been asked, sorry if it has...

I realise SOA Blog can't give us any details about the 2010 updates to the Impreza, Tribeca, Forrester, etc, but is there any chance we can find out *when* some info will be released? Even a ballpark vague answer like "summer" would help (as long as it's early summer lol). I'm ready to trade up my 06 *now* and am waiting to find out if the 2010 sti is getting any updates before I give any serious consideration to the Evo...

2009 STI has only been on the lots for a few months, I wouldn't expect to see 2010 STIs on the lots till ... October at the earliest

But if it's going to be essentially the same as the 2009 model I'm thinking about taking advantage of the economy and getting a good deal now...
