Default dyno estimates what do you guys think (whp)

Alright well ive planned out my first few mods and they are pretty simple. Im starting with the injen Cai , an Injen catback , unorthodox pulley set , and a tuning by pure tuning. Do you guys have any idea what i should expect to the wheels on my 07 2.5i. Im looking for about 160 to the wheels??? maybe im crazy

I say about 140-145 whp with a good tune, get that cat removed by the way, is very restrictive.

Depends on the dyno. On a Mustang, maybe. On a dyno dynamics, no way in heaven or h311

hmm im not for sure on what brand dyno it is , i want to do a full exhaust but i worried about voiding my warranty . One of the guys that works at this shop told me me with out the pulleys 150 hp is possible with a good tune.. Oh hey this might help the 07 2.5 dynoed at 129whp on this same dyno.

I think one 150 is a more realistic guess... but we will wait and see. O yeah where does subaru get the stock 173 hp is that at the crank because i have a hard time believing that it seems high

factor in about a 25% drivetrain loss from that 173 and you get 129.75whp, just like what was proven on that dyno.

The awd is a power sapper.

If I were you, I'd wait before the tune and maybe get cammed. That tuning will do a lot MORE good if you put one or two more mods on before the tune. I'm thinking in terms of saving money though. If you don't mind the money, then hells yeah! I can't wait to see this. Good mod path man, keep it up. Not often that people come on here with a set plan of mods and tune like that.

Yeah, if you're going pro-tune, put every mod you can imagine actually doing (or being able to afford) to you're car prior to the tune...unless you don't mind shelling out $2-500 every time you want to try a new part.

Yep, couldn't agree with you more here. It may cost alot at once but it will save time and money installing all the parts at one time and tune it once for all those mods together. plus after the tune you'll have a big on your face hopefully.

If a stock 07 put down 129 on the same dyno and you're putting on a cai, a pulley, and a muffler. My guess will be 138.

Yeah the first thing i ordered was a front and rear sway bar kit. But i understand what you guys are saying about waiting for the tune untill after i get all the aftermarket stuff installed. Im thinking about adding a high flow cat and headers a little later but due shortage of cash that probably wont be for at least a few months. Withouth a tune do you think the car will lose some in the low end power ?

the only way to tune a 2.5i is open source with enginuity (i think they are called romraider or something now lol).

+1.

Only open source has applications for these. Most of the companies know its not worth the money to develop it since the gains won't justify the cost.

Yes opensource is what youd be using without piggybacks or standalones, or ECU reflashes. The program gives the tuner the ability to basically change the parameters inside the ECU map itself.

jtomask, u really don't need to tune the car after u add those mods. if u had full exhaust and add cams or something, then u should get engine management. driveline loss should be around 30-35% from expected engine HP. if u did intake pulley and full exhaust, u should be between 200-205HP and should get around 140HP to wheels. like i said before, my car is a 2000 and has only intake, pulley, and catback and made 125HP which puts my car around 185HP. good luck with it.

I dont agree with ^. If you install an Injen intake on your MAF '07 you'd atleast want to rescale the MAF tables and adjust fueling.

I doubt you'll find any standalone EM for an 07 2.5i, open source is much more cost effective (and you get to learn tuning in the process if you have the capacity to do it yourself.)

Full exhaust will just void your emissions warranty. I spoke with subaru about this monday.

Even with a full exhaust setup you'd be hard pressed to reach 145. I was able to pull off 155whp being open source tuned.
