Default Why didn't you buy the EVO?

I got this idea from an EVO forum and thought it was a good idea, I searched and didn't find anything so here goes.

Why didnt you guys buy a mitsu EVO? Im sure there was some of you who thought about buying an EVO before ending up in a WRX/STI. I know all of you love your subies and this is nasioc, so please dont flame me.

In case your interested, the evo guys said they didnt buy an STI b/c of:
1. crappy customer service at dealership, and they didnt let them test drive the sti
2. heavier
3. softer suspension
4. lazier steering
and other things

so lets hear what you guys got, time for EVO haters to speak up.

1. It's a front wheel drive car with a different tranny to power the rear wheels!
2. It's not a boxer engine.
3. Mitsubishi = piss quality/crap

ouch, it costs that much over there?

well, ive always loved subarus, so its obvious why i got one, that plus EVO's up until now werent available in Canada cuz some moron of a marketing manager at mitsubishi thought there wouldnt be a market here, so hence they didnt bother fixing the car to meet our crash test requirements.

Oh, and reliability.

Seriously, I have read and heard nothing but terrible things about the reliability of Mitsubishi. Tow tuck drivers, mechanics, magazines, forums, real life acquaintances. I would have bought an Evo if they didn't have the reliability of a wet paper bag.

I've wanted an STi since I first laid eyes on the WRX back in 2002 I believe. I don't have any real grudges against the EVO its just i'm a Subie guy. Just like mustangs/camaros. Everyone has their favorites and the STi just does it for me. I love both cars and if I wasn't driving the STi, I'd be driving an EVO. Word

Interior: only liked the seats, everything else looked cheap.
Exterior: kinda liked the front end, not so much the rest, still liked the subaru looks better both years.
Sound: didnt like the exhaust note, just not my style. Boxer rumble sounds +123467 better
Reliability: didnt want my transfercase breaking or my crank going for a walk

You cannot refute the latest iteration of S-AWC in the Evo X dominates the '08 STi, though. It's not the means, it's the speed

I agree somewhat, but I would substitute "toy car" with "go-kart". I personally prefer the Evo over the STi, but it wasn't in my price range. WRX sure rocks the socks off the RalliArt Lancer though!

^ and the 90% of us understand that but all you need is one kid to not get it and start telling his buds that the Evo's have crank walk and he makes himself and the community looks dumb when he says he read it on Nasioc.
