Not to sound smartarse, but it's basically a warehouse area. Right next to our little ol' Chinatown and a few blocks from the convention center and downtown arenas. Alone, I would walk around there. W/my wife and/or kids, I'd drive or cab it.

I don't know of any "reasonable" decent hotels within walking distance, but I only stay downtown on special occasions. We've stayed at the Hilton Americas right near there and it was cool. My folks like Inn at the Ballpark, also a short walk. Both are priceline 4* hotels. Not exactly cheap, but you can get a decent deal. Both places have shuttles for downtown destinations, and I'd bet a driver's tip they'd give you a ride.

If you do priceline it, you might end up at the Hyatt. Not sure if they have a shuttle, but cabs are not hard to find.

Definately
I may be taking a look at another guy's UTEC to make some rough changes for him. I cant hang out forever on the 12th because I am flying out to Boston on the 13th, but I can come early on the 11th and stay a little on the 12th.

So its not really a ghetto area? If I can walk to the place that would be nice to save the cab fare.

Anyone know what hotels are closest?

This is a Holiday Inn Express, so after you stay there you can do brain surgery. And Sam hires some very hot desk girls.
