Default TurboXS Stage 2, 1/4 mile times

Well I finally made the 225mile trip to my nearest 1/4 mile track.

Track conditions were low to mid 70s with 60% humidity
R/T .949
60ft - 1.82 sec
330 - 5.43 sec
1/8 - 8.47
1000 ft - 11.102
1/4 mile - 13.33 @ 101 mph

I was very pleased with the results.

With perfect air ( cool with low humidity) it may be possible to run high 12s with the stage 2 kit.

I was at Bradenton Motorpark. 9am - 11am. It was open today. Very crowded when I left. There was another guy there with a WRX. He was running mid 14s. He had a joe p boost controller and a borla catback. Can't remember his name.

What all is included in the stage two for xs? And what kind of MPH did you run in the 1/4 stock?

Do you have any other mods besides the TXS Stage 2?

Default Nice run!

Congrats on a nice run!

We've been itching to get a stage 2 car to the track but they're all closed around the Mid Atlantic.

Great run!

Stage 2 come with a custom programmed Unichip, turbo back exhaust, abc bleeder valve to adjust boost, k&n filter, and direction for the silencer mod.
I never ran my car stock at the track but I have seen others run that are stock. The ones I saw were running anywhere from
14. 3 - 15.0 @ 88 -94mph. It all depends on track conditions and driver skill.

The only thing I am running in addition to the stage 2 kit is Turboxs's high performance boost controller. ($129) It allows me to build more boost in first gear. I've run with and without the mbc in the 1/8 mile and my times were within two tenths of a second. So its not making a huge difference. Its probably good for about .1 -.2 of a second in the 1/4 mile running a mbc over the stock setup.

wow, that's pretty good. I can see if you add a larger turbo, fuel system, and a good IC... not to mention the other IC hoses dipping deep into the 12's reaching close to the 110mph mmark.

I am considering either the Vishnu or XS kit, though I have not yet decided on a cat back system, I want 80mm, with a single tip, maybe a 105mm

Thumbs up

Congratz man, thats flying. Come up here to New England Dragway in April or October. Ive raced at NED in 20 degree weather before. Your car will prolly run in the 12's @ 104+mph then.

Im qurious what your running in the 1/8th.
1/8th mph is almost more important to me... Stoplight times 90% of races are decieded in the first 60 feet anyways. A 1.82 60' will blow the doors off pretty much anyone not launching equally as well on the street, reguardless of power. Once your out that far on someone its all over... unless your at the track

You must have missed it in my first post. When I ran 13.33 in the 1/4 mile, I also ran 8.47 @ 82mph in the 1/8 mile. That is my fastest to date in the 1/8th. The night before I went to our local 1/8 mile track and was running consistant 8.50s @80mph range.
My best 60' of the night was a 1.78
oh yes, I would just love some of that cold dry air down here. I believe I could run a 12.9 @104 ish just like you said if I had a 50 degree day with no humidity. These cars love cool dry air.

Hey SGOSWRX,

How is the top end power in your car now? Can you describe it a little for me? Say you're going 40 or so mph and you punch it in 2nd, does it pull a whole lot better than stock? Im just trying to get an idea of how fast your car is, because from a roll is where the wrx power is sorta lacking stock. Thanks

Default I agree

I'd like to know your midrange power. I find the WRX to be slightly lacking in midrange when stock. From a good launch it's pretty quick but from a 30 - 40 roll it takes a bit of effort to pull away from traffic. Did your mods affect midrange?

i can answer those last two questions for u guys.. I was on the highway next to my friend in his stock rex we were going 60 i told him to put it in 5th we were at a laggy 2500 rpm so we both punched it i walked away from him soooo bad like 2-3 cars. Then we did it in fourth and i walked away even faster. My mods are bpm mk3 turbo back, Stage 2 unichip, AEM cai. I hope that helps

I Launch at 5000 - 5500 rpms at the track. Drop clutch and floor it at the sametime. This technique got me in the 1.70s. I using nitto extreme performane tires. 215/45/17 These 17'' rims should actually be hurting my 1/4 times.

I will try to answer several questions with this post. At the track I 'm running 17 psi boost. I mixed 1 gallon of 100 octane ($5 at the track) with my 1/4 tank of premium gas just to keep the engine happy.

To answer the question about top end pull with the stage 2 kit compared to stock. With my boost controller set at 16 psi or so , my car flys. There is no comparison. I hate to say it but stock my car was slow. I was very dissappointed with its performance over 60mph. Now It's a joy to drive. I just love it. Just downshift into the right gear and it pulls hard. Even at high speeds.

If you could have seen me totally destroy this brand new Mustang GT( trailered to the track) sporting drag lite wheels, skinnies up fron and slicks out back you would be sold on the stage 2 kit. Stage 2 + MBC = hauls butt
