Thumbs up Nitti's Subaru (Central NJ Dealership)

Firstly:
Does anyone here have any experience with the service department at Nitti's Subaru, either good or bad?

Secondly, here is my Central NJ Subaru WRX car purchase story:

I was originally considering an Audi A4, Passat, or Acura. But I decided to try out the Subaru Impreza WRX after seeing some good reviews. I test drove the WRX a month ago at Middlesex Subaru. The saleswoman there (I believe her name was Dagmar) was friendly, and was happy to let me test drive both the RS and WRX Sedan.

I was looking for a loaded silver WRX sedan in automatic with most of the add ons except wing and 17” tires. However, as one might expect, there was nothing similar available in the lots at local dealerships. I tend to be picky with options and colors, so I decided to place an order from the manufacturer through a dealership. The goal price was $500 over the complete invoice price for the car and options. No payment for advertising fees, but I’d pay destination charge/taxes/tags/docs.

I first offered Middlesex my business, since they gave me the test drive. I asked for $500K over, but they rejected looking for $1000K over instead. Flemington had a good reputation, so I called them but they also wanted $1000K over invoice. I then called Coleman Subaru in Trenton. They said they were willing in principle to consider at $500K over, but the salesman wanted me to come down to the dealership first to talk options and wouldn’t promise anything. My slippery salesman alarm went off, and decided to look elsewhere.

Finally, I sent an offer via fax to Nitti Subaru in Hamilton (one county east of Trenton), listing exactly the configuration and price to the “Fleet Manager”. I indicated that I was willing to buy now, and I would be financing via Internet loan (Virtual Bank). Bob Nitti, one of the three brothers who own Nitti Subaru, responded to my fax, and agreed to my terms without complaint. He indicated that he would be able to get a Subaru configured as I desired in one month. I went down, and placed a small deposit.

Today is approximately one month later, and I have my new Subaru, on time and as ordered. The folks at Nitti were professional. They were able to handle my internet financing, and didn’t try to sell me any dealership revenue enhancements like extended warrantees and such. Most importantly, they delivered what they promised.

For those who already know what they want in their Subaru, and don’t want any nasty surprises, I would highly recommend them for purchases.

Im planning on ordering a WRX for delivery in early May. I was going to go to Nitti's (I live a mile away), but compared to other car dealerships in the area it is kind of crappy looking. But if they can order me a car for 500 over invoice thats fine with me. I took a test drive at Coleman and they are kind of shady. I bought a Jeep there a couple years ago though and had no problem with the service dept. though.

Unfortunately I had a problem with Nitti's service department, and later got to know a neighbor who purchased his car from them (I did not), but goes for service elswhere. Both he and I go to Somerset Subaru a.k.a. Middlesex Foreign Cars.

I have had nothing but experiences with Nitti's service dept. Just my two cents.

Glad to hear that. However my own encounter with Nitti falls into the "never come back" category I'm afraid.

Thumbs down

While I didn't deal with the service department, I can tell you that their sales department sucks. 2 times I stopped by Nitti's and both times I was brushed off. The salesman I talked too didn't give me enough of his time and even told me to come back another day!?! 2 thumbs down from me.
